I really didn’t want to do this but I have to in good conscience let others know that this is not a good vet. In general they just don’t have a good attitude. About 7 years ago my partner’s little dog was misdiagnosed by a vet here which cost a fortune & put the dog through unnecessary discomfort then when the dog started getting really sick because of the misdiagnosis they just all of a sudden said we have to put him down, it was horrific. About a month ago when our dog really hurt himself & was bleeding quite badly they wouldn’t see him even though it was an emergency they said to just leave him that way all night until the morning when they would be ready to take more of our money. So obviously we took him to a different vet, they were run off their feet but still helped him even though we had never been there. They even let us pay the rest of the bill the next day which beach street would never do despite knowing our family for so long. I’m actually glad they refused to help because now I know what a good vet looks like that actually wants to help your animals. The difference between practices is night & day. I had to edit this review to add more to it as today I took my 10 year old dog to her new vet for her nails to be looked at & found out that she has been walking around with nails that they let get so long they were crossing over for no reason because this vet refused to clip them properly. We kept taking her to beach st vet to get her nails clipped but they kept getting “nurses” to do it, some of them weren’t comfortable doing it at all, others took the tiniest bit of the nail off that made little to no difference. They did this for months until finally we said we need to see a proper vet about this, he said there was nothing to be done. Today the new vet takes her in, clips them properly then she’s done. Finally she can walk comfortably but because this vet refused to clip them for so long she is walking funny on her hind legs from being so used to compensating for those long nails. I should never have trusted them again after the first time.

I have been going to this vet for the past 7 years. However, today I wasted half an hour waiting to be seen with my 2 cats only to be told when I was called by the vet that they have no vaccines. I booked a specific appointment to have my cats vaccinated. Very poor service I wasn’t told when I arrived could have saved alot of trouble. What was once a great clinic has now really dropped their standards. I will now attend another clinic.

Human Person
Hit-and-miss experience here – a pricey gamble.
First visit, the vet was thorough compared to what I had been used to elsewhere, and I went home feeling like we had made progress. There were some aspects I wasn’t completely happy with but felt that the service provided was worth overlooking these.
2nd time saw a different vet with poor bedside manner and went home feeling less than assured that we were heading down the right track.
Some of the vet nurses/reception staff are lovely, warm and helpful.
However one in particular is rude, provided poor customer service and is not doing the clinic any favours.
Will likely try elsewhere for our next visit just based on most recent experience.

Our dog needed a vaccination,in a hurry and the Beach Street Family Veterinary Clinic accommodated us.
Helpful ReviewThe staff are so friendly towards the animals, and always offering dried liver treats.
We had our yearly vacation and a thorough examination and it only cost $94:00.
The staff were so helpful and friendly.
