Please don’t EVER take your darling fur baby here, they have great Veterinary Nursing, but shocking Veterinary Doctors!
If you want the worst news ever, and that is to euthanise your baby, then this is your drive through, shocking advice, one stop chop shop.
Helpful ReviewThey wanted to kill my baby, after poorly misdiagnosing him with a grade 5 spinal disease, when in fact, at only 5yrs old, my baby Chihuahua had a minor rupture of 1 spinal disc.
I was advised that the Kindest thing to do, as he, in their opinion, had less than 10% of recovering.
I refused and took him to an actual professional at WAVES in Cockburn who totally disagreed with their diagnosis and prognosis.
My boy is now 100% recovered, regardless of the, over $3000 they charged me, for 30hrs in their cage, and has another, at least 10yrs alive, happy, running and jumping with his brother, instead of the grave they would have put him in 6 months ago.
If you live in Perth PLEASE go to the Emergency Vet in Wangaratta, or WAVES in Cockburn.

Despite the long wait it was absolutely amazing service, Amy constantly checked on us and Jill looked after my puppy well and gave us all the information we needed. I felt very comfortable leaving my girl, Khiya, in Amy and Jill’s hands. I’d be happy to wait that long again to receive treatment we did.

PVE took excellent care of our wee dog Churro when he was super sick with a nasty retrobulbar abscess. He needed 2 hourly eye drops and a veritable cocktail of antibiotics and others. They communicated well with our local GP vet and also updated us with so much care and compassion. We felt at ease whilst he was in their hands and he recovered much quicker than expected I’m sure as a result of this. It was a very different experience here than at another facility and they have restored our faith in veterinary care.

I cannot thank this place enough! My parrot wasn’t eating or drinking on Saturday so we called numerous emergency vets but no one was really accomodating for a bird. They all kept saying they had no one there that deals with birds. This place said they don’t have an avian vet but they’re all qualified to deal with all animals and that we should bring him in. Thank goodness we did!! The vet (Dr Chloe Tan) gave my little man fluids and meds to take home, at least to tie him over to see his normal vet on Monday, and he started feeling better in a couple of hours. Without them I don’t know what would have happened. I owe his life to them!! Do not hesitate to take your fur or feathered baby here!!!

Needed help on Saturday night after my little westie was acting weird and not herself at all. Phoned first and spoke to a lovely, calm and helpful nurse who suggested that, yes, it was a good idea to bring her in to see the vet (I’m a helicopter parent to little Milo, and it was really rather calming to speak with someone who wasn’t at all blasé or dismissive about my fretting). Once we got there, she was whipped into a room with a nurse to check her vitals. Our consultation then took approx 30mins and then the vet took her straight into surgery to remove the grass seed (that dreaded season is upon us again), which took about 45mins. During our consultation, the vet (Dr Cherico) was gentle and kind towards Milo. She was also super informative about the costs relative to the surgery. I knew Milo was back to herself as soon as Dr Cherico led her back out to the waiting room as she started hassling people in the room for pats. Would definitely come back if something were ever to happen again (fingers crossed that it doesn’t, though)

My dog Ollie was admitted to PVE with what turned out to be pancreatitis and spent several days in their care. As a pet owner whose dog had never experienced any health issues, I was really grateful for the support from the PVE staff. They called me regularly about how he was doing, allowed me to come and spend time with him and even txt through lovely photos of him (better than any of the photos I had tried to take). The staff were really genuine people which made the whole ordeal so much more bearable. I can’t sing their praises enough for caring for my boy and for being so bright and cheerful in what I imagine would be a really emotionally challenging workplace. Thank you all!

The staff at PVE show incredible professionalism and compassion while also providing a very personalised experience for their furry patients as well as their owners. While the thought of having to use an emergency vet sends shivers down the spine of any pet owner, PVE is really the best place for your pet to be, they truly are in good hands here.

We presented with our cat on a Sunday night with suspected saddle thrombosis. We had just been told by another emergency vet that we would have to wait 4 hours and they did not triage patients. We decided to go to PVE instead who triaged our cat according to the urgency of the situation and we were seen almost immediately. We were kept updated throughout the evening and even sent photos of our cat to reassure us that he was okay. We are super grateful for the care our cat received and wouldn’t go anywhere else. I have had to use the services of Perth Vet Emergency a few times after hours and on weekends with my pets, (more than 10 times) and EVERY SINGLE TIME that I have been there – every single staff member has been 10 out of 10 for their service, compassion and caring nature when you are going through very stressful times when your fur babies are unhealthy.

After our 6mo pup ate a fatal amount of nurofen, we rushed him to PVE. The care and effort they put into making our anxious rescue feel safe and loved over his 3 day visit is probably the reason he is still here. He isn’t good in cages, so the team made him a cozy corner where he could safely sit and observe the nurses. He is quite co dependant, so the team assisted in arranging visits for us. Finally, the personalised text updates and photos during his stay from the nurses, put our family at ease knowing he was in the best hands. We are eternally grateful for you guys 🥺

Clean, conveniently located and very well staffed.
I received great service at PVE while I took my cat for an emergency check-up. The vet took great care of our fur-baby and was very thorough. But the highlight was the lady at the front desk. She went above and beyond to keep me informed and to calm me down as I was quite anxious about the situation. That is exactly the type of service that should be rewarded and that makes a huge difference during stressful situations.

We had to say goodbye to our 7 week old puppy due to a birth defect that couldn?t be helped. As soon as we took her in we got a call from the vet within 4 hours to let us know what was wrong, I?m so grateful they found out so quickly so she didn?t suffer. It was the hardest decision we have had to make. Perth Vet Emergency were so kind and understanding which really helped us through a tough time. A week later we received a card in the mail with her paw print. Amazing service even though it was under horrible circumstances ??
