Unfortunately my pup Korra had a stick injury Sunday morning. I called BVECCS for help and they were very informative, calm and professional. As soon as I got there I was greeted immediately and taken into a consult room and my Korra was looked at by nurse Maryanne and Shaz. Then the Amazing Vet Dr. Steph gave me a comprehensive estimate for the procedures to be done and was extremely caring and transparent when answering my questions and concerns. I received updates when they said I would and were always lovely and professional at every encounter. The nurse that discharged Korra the next morning was Callum and he was very clear and informative about the aftercare, stating we could always call if we had any questions. Thankyou to everyone who looked after my girl. I cannot recommend this practise enough, never felt so safe leaving my girl anywhere. 10/10.

I honestly can’t speak highly enough of the staff at BVECCS. My dog has been in over several nights for a bout of severe gastro, and every single nurse and vet we have seen has been so kind and caring. It makes it a lot easier to leave your beloved pet overnight when the staff are so lovely and you don’t have to worry about the care they’re receiving. It obviously can be a little more expensive as an emergency vet service, but the staff have always explained everything they’ve done and given accurate quotes before my boy was admitted. I’m so grateful for the care they have given him and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in future.

Terrible place, initial consultation was unprofessional, not told much because they did not have the knowledge or experience. Then a character that could only be described as Mr Scrooge came skipping into the little cell, rubbing his hands with a gleeful expression asking for cash!!! Seriously!!! I questioned him, he did not like it at all. Then to be told a few hours later nothing could be done for my poor baby and was advised to have her put down. Which I reluctantly did, due to severe emotional distress, then shuffled off to pay more money. Was charged for an overnight stay, which didn’t happen and charged for drugs that should not have been administered due to the fact poor dog was already dosed up with anti venine. I was told they would look after everything with the pet funeral, I had to do nothing, their words, so I went home without my baby, was she really put down? Who knows!!! Was she really cremated ??? Don’t know that either. Don’t know who’s ashes I got. Was then told by my local vet this should not have happened as she had responded well with the initial doses of anti venine and only needed to be monitored!!!!!! So why didn’t thes
UPDATE: My complaint fell on deaf ears, vet lied saying I refused tests?? That was the first thing we asked for. Amazed the owner didn’t ring to find out what on earth was going on. But I am concerned about the meds I paid for, too many for what was actually administered. I think a call to the ACCC so they can investigate. Or Media, maybe thats the way to go..

Spoke to Alinya tonight about the problems I am having with my Chihuahua. She was very kind, informative and caring to my situation. Didn’t feel like a money grab like most out of hours, emergency vets. I really appreciate her honesty and help. If you ever need an emergency vet in this area of Brisbane, I think this is a wonderful place to go! Thank you Alinya for your honesty, kind professionalism, information and care! What a gem! In gratitude.

Our senior staffy who escaped and went for an adventure was taken to this amazing vet. They took amazing care of him, have him a checkup, treats, lots of love and wouldn’t accept any payment for looking after him for us. Wonderful, selfless people.

Massive shoutout to Lisa, Sophie and Callum who were very caring and attentive to my little boy Chase! He was very sick when he first entered into their care but he came out looking like his normal self. They provided constant updates and took amazing care of him, even with all the other pets they had to treat. I couldn’t be more grateful to the team ❤️

Overall, very disappointed with the service I received from this vet.Last night I captured a wild bird that was clearly not in a good state, the bird wasn’t able to walk straight without falling over, and was unable to fly. I contacted Bribie and District Wildlife Rescue to try and organise someone to collect the bird and take it to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital where I knew it would be properly cared for, but they weren’t able to get anyone to pick up and take the bird there.

Today, we were still caring for the bird and they still didn’t have a volunteer to help, so I realised that I was going to have to take the bird somewhere myself. I was unable to make the trip all of the way to Australia Zoo, so I decided to find a local wildlife vet to be able to assist the bird. BVECCS seemed like the most logical solution to help the little fella (or girl) out to get it back to full health.

I called the centre and spoke to a guy who said, yes absolutely we will take the bird in and give it the medical attention that it needed, I was quite relieved that there was help available. He assured me that I was good to bring the bird in to be cared for.

So I went to their centre to drop the little birdy off, but when I got there, I was greeted by a young lady who was very condescending, I explained to her that it thought it may be a Pied Butcherbird and that it seemed to have a crooked tail, and that one of it’s eyes was cloudy and looked like it could be affecting it’s balance (hence why it kept falling over).

I was promptly told (as if i was an idiot) that it was not a Pied Butcherbird, but rather a Peewee, and that the eyes wouldn’t affect it, she stated that she has 2 eyes and could still see if she had only one eye she could still see (my logic was that with the bird having the eyes on the side of it’s head rather than in front (as a human eye is) that it may have affected its balance. When I stated that the bird was off balance, she told n
me yes obviously, i can see that.

I am definitely no Avian expert, but i did’t appreciate being spoken to like a simpleton, if this happens again, I’ll definitely make the extra drive to go to Australia Zoo’s animal Hospital, rather than being spoken to like an uneducated fool. I know you have my details from dropping the bird off, so please feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss this further.

I don’t appreciate being spoken to like an idiot just because I don’t know my bird breeds.

We had to say goodbye to our beloved Lilly last night I can’t thank enough vet Sophie and nurse Sam ( not sure if I remember the name correctly) for their care, professionalism and compassion. It was very hard for us but seeing that Lilly was not a number to them and how their looked after her, cared for her and made her last minute as easy as possible. Thank you very much. Elena

I am dissapointed in the outcome of the sugery of my dog’s paw, as some stiches came un-done even after following the instructions the clinic gave me. After paying such expensive fee the result was substandard.

So greatful for these guys, got home this evening to my (almost 80kg) great dane with a large bone stuck in his jaw. Called up and they were so kind over the phone, got there as quick as we could and Leo (who usually hates vets) was so calm and happy to be in the presence of this one particular man (I’m sorry I didn’t get your name). Took a bit of effort but eventually got the huge bone out and leo was happy and on his way, at a VERY good price.

    Can’t thank you enough!!

After my dog ate something he definitely should not have, and subsequently fell down our many stairs (on a public holiday!) I took him to the emergency vet. The staff were kind, gentle and tried everything they could before suggesting the best course of action would be for my dog to spend the evening. Communication was impeccable and I even rang in the middle of the night to check up on him and Katrina was more than happy to report what was happening. When collecting him the next morning I was told exactly what had happened overnight and exactly what I had to do over the next 24 hours. Thankyou to all who made a stressful situation a lot less so.

These guys at BVECCS are wonderful people and CARE about animals! Great bedside manner and I highly recommend them! 5/5 But before I get into the awesomeness of this vet:

Last night, before we took our dog, Puppy to them, we were having a complete nightmare.

He’s usually a hyperactive nutjob of a dog, but was listless and panting and whining. We didn’t know what was wrong with him at all, so we called a different emergency vet to come by our house.

This other vet muzzled our sick dog, he was not being aggressive, he’s never worn a muzzle before, so frantically tried to paw it off, then one person climbed on top of him and pinned him to the ground while the other forced his head down by his collar. They physically restrained him so he got really scared and stressed and started bucking them off and growling at them.

They backed off and claimed they couldn’t examine him, said they had no idea what was wrong with him “it could be a thousand things” but still charged us $300 for the “examination” and anxiety pills and quickly left.

After that Puppy became listless again and started peeing blood. We were really, really scared and had no idea what was happening, that’s when we googled BVECCS and called, they said to come down asap.

Straightway, these guys were warm and welcoming. And professional.

They knew how to look after a high energy, anxious dog and he was 100% wound up by this point, I know he was naughty as well marking everything he could… doc included – sorry!
And trying to jump on people… but they were really good with him and patient, they really cared about him, we could tell that.

He’d just had a really stressful time with the other “vet”- but these guys petted him, talked to him and spoiled him with treats. They knew how to handle him and were so friendly and warm.

They gave us antibiotics and painkillers for Puppy, he slept all night and he’s doing better this morning.

Thank you for looking after Puppy!

The staff at Bveccs are absolutely phenomenal! They cared for my granny cat beautifully and were extremely attentive providing regular updates while waiting even though they were run off their feet. 2 visits about 6yrs apart and we have been well cared for each time. To say that their staff go above and beyond is an understatement

We took our dog Holly to BVECCS when she was diagnosed with Lymphoma. We had been to another vet that left us feeling like we had no options and were devastated, but Hanna and the team were amazing.

They gave us options, spoke to us in clear English, understood that this was expensive and when it wasn’t working didn’t recommend that we keep going.

Its unfortunate that Holly didn’t make it in the end but I can’t recommend BVECCS and Hanna enough if anyone else finds themselves in a similarly awful situation. Thankyou for all of your help and compassion.

Terrible service. Took dog into back room. Waited ages to be told very little about a breathing issue. Was told the vet who did the exam was called away the other vet was rude and very vague. Also made a point that she listened to his breathing but weren’t we just told another vet checked him!!! Felt lied to and not reasured at all dog came home still having trouble breathing. Very poor service cost $130. Total waste of money. Stay clear.
