Absolutely Horrible Experience – Do Not Trust Them With Your Pet
We dropped our dog off at the Buckhead PetSmart Pet Hotel on a Tuesday morning at 7 AM, thinking we were leaving her in good hands. We chose group play since she has played with other dogs before and loves it, and we also instructed them to feed her throughout the day since she uses a gravity feeder at home. We provided 8 individually bagged cups of food (1 cup per bag), expecting her to be cared for until Thursday.
Plans changed, and we returned Wednesday at 7 PM. We called a few hours ahead, and I could tell over the phone that the staff member was eager for us to pick her up. When we arrived and asked how our pup did, the staff member immediately said, “Horrible.” She claimed our dog chased other dogs and nipped during play, and even said she broke her kennel door. She then very rudely told us we needed to train and socialize her more. To me, her description sounded like normal puppy play for an 11-month-old husky mix, and the broken kennel made more sense once we saw her condition.
When they brought her out, she smelled awful and had feces on her. To make matters worse, they handed back our food bags — 6.5 bags still left. This means they only fed her 1.5 cups of food over two full days. An active, 35 lb puppy being fed that little is unacceptable. No wonder she broke her kennel door — she was either hungry or trying to escape from sitting in her own mess.
We left immediately for another trip and decided to board her at a different, well-reviewed pet hotel that had webcams so we could monitor her. For 4 days, we watched her happily playing, making “best friend” dogs, and receiving glowing report cards from staff. They had no issues whatsoever and described her as amazing.
The difference in care was night and day. PetSmart was lazy, careless, and downright negligent. They don’t actually care about your pet. I will never, ever use them again, and I strongly urge others not to trust them with your pets.
Thank God we picked her up early.

I will never return to the pet hotel again. My dog didn’t receive the food I brought for her to eat during her stay as she has a very sensitive stomach. I got a call 2 days later she was out of food, and was charged for her to receive their food (I was happy they called to go over options). However, Come to find out, when I looked in her bag upon pick up, her food was still there! Packaged and all. If the person called Sunday, what was my dog eating Friday and Saturday?!! I tried to get an understanding of what happened…. the manager tried her best but clearly their staff is incompetent. The offer to rectify the situation was 20% off next visit and a visit to horrible Banfield. What a joke. Never again. My dog could have gotten very sick smh

Came in today to get a Hamster for my daughter. She asked for a Hamster for her 4th Birthday!! Margaret was AWESOME. She helped us out with everything. She was very knowledgeable about the different breeds; a PLUS. Thanks for helping us get Peanut Butter.

Never returning for a grooming service. My dog came back with several burns on several parts of his body and scratching like crazy because he picked up fleas from the 4 hours he was there for grooming. The price is great because it’s much lower than other grooming places – but not worth it at all. Don’t risk it and pay for a better place that won’t hurt your pet and is clean.

My experience here was a little unorthodox! My family member had an extreme emergency at this location that needed medical attention. The manager on duty was responsive by checking on her, making sure she was ok and comfortable while 911 was called, though they never showed up! He waited with her and kept me updated until I was able to get there and take her to the emergency hospital . Thank you, Micheal, for your help 🙏 and being so kind and wonderful human being. It won’t go forgotten!!

Ashley is by far one of the best groomers at the PetSmart Buckhead location. She truly cares for each pet as her own. My family has been taking our dogs to her since 2018. She does a great job as the salon manager. I highly recommend her!

The groomer Ashley at this location is horrible. She has a nasty attitude and cancelled my appointment and blocked me from making other appointments at other locations because she couldnt service my dog. She also has the decency to tell me my dog has never been to this location when it was confirmed with corporate when I called. Bentley has Been to 3 other locations with no problems.I spoke with the store manager Michael at this location and he was helpful. I also called corporate and filled a complaint .

Never again!! Left my 5 lb Yorkie on Saturday afternoon. I got a call early Sunday morning to say my dog bit through bite gloves and an employee was injured. 5 lb Yorkie!!! That’s not all. A couple hours later I get a call from a pet hospital that my dog is there with injuries to his lip and paw!! Retaliation?? Looks very fishy. Store leader tried to make amends but I will never leave my pet with Buckhead Hotel at Petsmart again!!! His first and last visit to Petsmart hotel.

A very dingy PetSmart. Looks like it hasn’t been renovated since it opened a 100 years ago. Inventory is ok and staff is ok, cleanliness is bad. No experience with grooming or Banfield.
