Reviewed on GoogleToday my wife brought our cockatiel for a talon clipping.
Unfortunately the vet cut one of my bird’s quicks causing him to bleed, not uncommon unfortunately with birds.
The vet explained to my wife (who is a vet nurse) that he cauterised the bleed but it had ‘slowed’ the bleed.
When my wife drove back home (a matter of minutes away), our bird had lost quite a large amount of blood thereby showing that the cauterisation was inadequate.
My wife has since had to take our bird to the vet surgery where she works and I called to complain and spoke to the vet.
I found his tone and attitude to be incredibly dismissive and he simply stated that the application of potassium permanganate obviously didn’t work to stop the bleed. This infuriated me as his tone was very matter of fact.
He added that my wife should have just brought our bird back for another addition of potassium. When I told him that I would not bring any of my animals back to his vet practice, it was like water off a duck’s back.
My call ended with absolutely no resolution although there was a very half hearted apology.
I am seriously unhappy with this turn of events and the inadequate post procedural care from the vet.
I would seriously think about taking pets to this practice.

Reviewed on GoogleThe vet was amazing! We have a large dog who isn’t too fond of getting needles and other things done.
Helpful ReviewThe vet did a great job, he did all of his needles so quickly and communicated great with us on how we can distract him.
Will definitely be going back, very happy!

Reviewed on GoogleWay more expensive than other vets I have used for same treatments. Medication was charged at over double the price of what I could get it for elsewhere. I am a pensioner and can’t afford to be ripped off by these greedy vets that prey on people’s emotions for their beloved pets.

Reviewed on GoogleWe got hit with a bill far higher than seemed reasonable, so asked for a copy of the receipt to find out what had been done. I’m an ex vet nurse and I’m aware of the real costs… so I was shocked to see a host of excessive charges for work that may not have needed doing… $55 for subcut fluids; as a reference, I have given this dog subcutaneous fluids myself when he had diarrhoea and it cost $3 for the fluids and needle. $48 for disinfectants, at that price we are purchasing the entire bottle, or two. $11 for swabs lol

Reviewed on GoogleNot even 1 star. After taking our 5 yr old mini foxy in to get help due to swelling in her throat and struggling to breath. Vet said she was in pain and only had 50% of her airways due to having a hematoma in her throat so needed to be placed on oxygen over night which was going to cost us just over $1000 which is outrages considering they only gave her oxygen but we agreed as we wanted our girl to be looked after. We called after a few hours had passed for an update to find out the swelling was going down which was a relief. He believed the swelling was due to an impact hit somehow perhaps getting her head stuck somewhere. The next morning I got a phone call to say she had passed away over night after bleeding out, The hematoma had had swelled again and burst. She was alone and in a lot of pain. Not once was death ever expected otherwise I would have rathered her be put to sleep peacefully or better yet some surgery done to avoid this. But I don’t even believe she was looked at enough for him to even know what was actually wrong with her as there was no scans or blood tests done. AND he had the nerve to still want the money asap he even snatched her back out of my husbands hands and insisted the money when he was told we dont believe he deserves the money. He had absolutely no compassion about our poor little girl who had just passed away in the most horrible way ON HER OWN! He just wanted the money. I will definitely not be trusting him with any of my other pets and would not recommend him for anyone else.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE
Rude
Money hungry
Poor time management
Recently had made an appointment to take my dog for heart & medication checkup at 3:15 in the afternoon. Received a call from the Vet/owner Steve around midday requesting that I arrive early for my appointment. Being busy with my own
Life I explained I had clients and would do my best. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to arrive early to the appointment so I called reception to advise I would be arriving on time for my appointment, not early. I was then put through to Steve who very rudely and abruptly told me ‘You’d better get ya skates on, coz if you’re not here by 3:15 I’m out of here whether you’re here or not’ I was livid as that’s my appointment time and I would’ve been there maybe 5 mins early, just couldn’t promise due to traffic and my location being 30 mins drive from them.
I called back reception and told them to cancel my appointment and raised the issues and concerns. To me Steve acted like a spoilt rich kid chucking a tanty coz he couldn’t have things his way. Maybe look into your time management skills, or lack of!
Anyway in the end, the following day, Steve’s wife Donna offered me a script for the required meds at a price of $69 for a piece of paper this is before I even fill the script at a price of nearly $200! Considering the circumstances and their arrogance I feel they shouldn’t be charging me for the script. I will not be retuning to nor communicating with these scumbags.
So In return for Steve’s disgusting way of treating clients, I very abruptly informed his wife Donna where they can stick their $69 piece of paper.
Absolutely appalling! Don’t go there, they’re nice to you at the start then once they get to know you they seem to think they can treat people however they want. Forgetting that I have an 11 year old dog with no medication for his heart because all they care about is filling their pockets.

Reviewed on GoogleWould be zero star if I could. Over 13 months ago our lab had a few lumps, after testing lumps opened up and they believed it was a staff infection. Said take these antibiotics give it 6 weeks he’ll be fine, after a few days he was worse called up and they said no point bringing him in till it’s been 6 weeks as we won’t see any results for that long. A few more days passed we called again as the wounds got bigger and now there were more lumps and still no they said meds need 6 weeks to show any improvement.
Helpful ReviewWell we took him to Carrara VSS and after a few weeks and more testing it was decided he had an auto immune disease started meds and within 3 days he was improving. They said it’s a good thing we brought him to them because if we had of listened to a plus vets he’d be dead now. Instead he is happy fully recovered and doing amazing now no thanks to these people.

Reviewed on GoogleWe weren’t happy with the service at 750.00 to do unnecessary X-rays n sedate our dog.. the vet required an x-ray to diagnose whether our dog had a broken leg or not… we knew the leg wasn’t broken. Not enough questions were asked by the vet during the consultation. Overall, very disappointing behaviour.
