I came in here for a routine check for my cat and even though the wait was a bit long it was worth it. The veterinarian who attended my cat took his time to carefully check him even though he wasn’t sick and it was just a routine check. Good value for the money too.

Was a new client to this vet clinic as we just moved to a new place. Came with a vomiting problem and ear infection issues. Told the vet that he hates getting his ears touched as we were trying to get a sample from his ear. The vet asked us to bring him to the back so the nurse could help him. In the end they couldn’t get the sample and said he might need to be sedated to get the sample as he won’t let anyone touch his ears, which we can understand. We walked out and paid the fees only to realise that my dog has scratches on his face. We walked back in trying to figure out what happened. The nurse said that they had to try to put a muzzle on him as he was trying to bite. He never bites, and as precaution I’m supportive for the nurses to put it on to protect themselves. What I really disappointed about was that the nurse manager basically said it to our face that our dog wasn’t the best dog, and that they didn’t even mention it to us what happened inside that he ended up with scratches on his face. Mentioned that all the scratches were from our dog trying to take the muzzle off. Why not stop him? They did not apologize nor try to explain it to us, but instead put a blame on our dog for being a bad dog. Not professional at all.

Helpful ReviewWe apologise that we have been unable to help you during these difficult times, but as per legislation and law, we are unable to prescribe any medication to any patient we have not seen within the last 6 months. This is for the wellbeing of your own pet, as haphazardly dispensing medication without knowing the true problem can be problematic and cause further issues.
We are more than happy to try to accomodate by booking in an appointment for your pet to sort out their problem if you contact us at the clinic.

I switched to West Brunswick Veterinary Clinic from Brunswick Central Vets last year. My dog had a runny nose, and our previous vet (Brunswick Central) said it wasn’t a huge deal, likely a grass seed and they could see him in 2 weeks (they are always very busy).
I didn’t want to wait that long so I contacted West Brunswick and got an appointment the next day.
The Vet recommended a investigation to find the cause of my dog’s nasal issues. A few days later we found out my dog has an aggressive nasal cancer which has a poor prognosis and kills dogs within a few months.
Finding this out quickly meant I was able to get a specialist and treatment for my dog booked and started much earlier.
It is 6 months since the diagnosis. My dog was treated with radiotherapy in Sydney and is happy and well. He would definitely not be alive and with us now if it wasn’t for the care from West Brunswick Vet.

These guys are so lovely. We have had 2 cats coming here. Our second cat is super scared of coming, previously being a stray. When it was time to put her in the box she freaked out and just would not go in! I called and the staff were super flexible, gave advice about how to get our cat comfortable, and helped us cancel and reschedule without a problem. The crew are also extremely helpful with ordering in products including Feliway and special kidney food. When our first cat passed away they were very helpful and compassionate. Highly recommend these angels.

I brought my two cats in for their first annual check up a few months ago, and was told that both of my cats had (I believe they said stage 2) periodontal disease, and my only option was to undergo a very expensive teeth cleaning and put them under anaesthesia. This confused me as they’re quite young and I take good care of their teeth. I was also very stressed about anaesthesia risks, so I went to Heritage vet in Coburg for a second opinion. I was told that my cat didn’t have peridontal disease at all, and his teeth actually looked great. He was supposedly the worse of the two, so I’m sure my other cat will have the same result.
I’m really disappointed by this vet. They were nice people, but seem to be more focused on making money, than on the animals themselves. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this vet, go to Heritage instead if you can.

We brought our dog here last minute and the staff were so amazing fitting us in to make sure he got seen. It’s thanks to the wonderful staff here that we got him to the emergency vet in time for them to save his life. Huge thank you to everyone at WBV for their amazing care and support ❤️

I have been attending this vet for well over 25 years. Cameron was wonderful, caring and very knowledgeable. I always felt my fur kids were in the best care. Fast forward to January, 2021 and I was absolutely gob smacked with what happened. Change of management – let me point out. I booked my dog in for annual vaccination. I produced my dogs vaccination passport that I have been using since he was a pup. I was informed that they would not be filling out this passport as new management do not want any other vet clinic details displayed. I shrugged this off when in reality probably should have left. It is no big deal, however, I did think that this was a little over the top. So the vet gave a simple check over and was vaccinated. I once again produced my pet passport in hope that maybe the vet would just fill it out and all vaccination records could be kept in one booklet. I was wrong, instead I got a long card board envelope size record. I was pretty disappointed as the pet passport has a vet stamp on the rear of the booklet, no other identifying marks. Why not fill out the passport? I was also not afforded an opportunity to say goodbye to Cameron, only told he was busy with the new owner. As a customer of his for 25 years I think the decision for Cameron to see me should have been his to make. I was disappointed. Unfortunately my 25 years of pet care for my fur kids has come to an end at this clinic.
Helpful ReviewI have read the response and I’d like to clarify that I was never told the reason the pet passport could not be used was because of legislation. I’m yet to actually find the legislation. I was clearly told the new vet did not want other vet business names. Anyhow hopefully the business will learn and grow and if something relates to legislation then this should be the reason provided.

I have been taking my two dogs for years. Very knowledgeable vets, affordable prices and flexible appointments. The staff are super friendly and great with the animals. Even though I moved away from Brunswick, I still take my dogs here as I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.
