Can’t imagine how my chicken’s euthanasia went on for more than 5mins when she supposedly couldn’t breath the gas in enough..could it have been the hose/mask was attached to a canister labelled oxygen?!?..how did she manage then to call out with such gusto at the 3/minute mark?!?..injected her in the leg(not first try either)..she felt the lot and died terribly..euthanasia they charge for..botched cruel murders are free apparently..will never forget or forgive for it..should never have taken her back there against my better judgement..hope the place gets shut down

Had a bad experience with them for my first puppy, the vets there don’t discuss with you what is needed for them in terms of vaccinations. No preventative discussions at all which ended up costing me $400 to get my puppy up to date with her vaccinations at another vet clinic one entire year after.

Helpful Review 3The first specialist I got can not convince me, she didn’t weight my pet at all, during the consultation didn’t carefully hear for the situation I described. Compared to the GP I went to in another vet store I think the GP is more professional, caring, connected to our feelings.

I have a parrot that plucks its beautiful feathers….the first time I took him to this vet the treatment he received and I was really nasty and I literally lost 70 bucks just to take him to a really rude woman, grab him roughly for the entire session…and take his weight…. so since then I haven’t been back to the vet… she also didn’t solve my feather problem and told me there wasn’t much of a “solution” to that problem…

BEWARE OF THIS VETERINARY PRACTICE – They are dangerous and are currently being investigated for Euthanising an animal without any grounds what so ever!!
Helpful Review 5They killed a Bird that only had a minor broken leg.
His leg had been broken for OVER A YEAR and was still able to fly and eat and was in no pain.
This birds name was Kevin and he was in no way suffering when he was taken in.
The reason my daughter took Kevin in was just in case they could mend the broken leg which had fused crooked as it had been broken for such a long time – Never did she expect that they would kill Kevin, as there was just no need to..
They DID NOT CALL my daughter until AFTER THEY KILLED KEVIN!!!! Disgusting, despicable practice – I pray to God they get shut down before they kill any more innocent animals!!!

Warning!! This Vet, is a dangerous place. They euthanised my nieces dear pet whom she loved more than anything without so much as a phone call or her knowledge or consent!!!

Highly recommended. First i took my pet budgie here a few months back and Dr Ian was so professional and his advise was spot on. Gave me an antibiotic to take home to administer and Snowie gained her strength a day later. Very grateful for all the staff and Drs. Currently taking a puppy who is very sick and Dr Rose are so honest and helpful on her opinion and suggestion. Still a long way to go but Aspen is now well know after staying the day. She is being looked after and hopefully going up hill from here. Thank you Canley Heights Vet staff and Drs. No words to describe how wonderful and caring you all are.

I’ve came there three time for the same problems that my dog has on her eyes and body

They have subscribed antibiotics tablets,injections and a whole bunch of med and it doesn’t help if anything it’s getting worse ,they’ve charged me over 1.5k worth of med for the three times I’ve been there
They said the only way to know what’s wrong with the dog is to take a sample from her eyes and body to do a biopsy which charge me another $500 and I should know the result in 1wk
It’s been over 1 and a half month now and there’s still no answer from them
I’ve call them so many times to get the result but they keep on delaying it saying they are very busy and that the dr will call me back
I’ve been waiting for so long ,no one calls backs
If you love your animals dnt take them here
They will waste your time and money and nothing gets done
My dog is still in pain and the infection is getting worse from the med they have prescribed
I’m still waiting for my dogs biopsy results
I’ve waste so much money from this place now I have to save up to go somewhere else
If I could give them zero star

Worst vet in Sydney. Came in on time to my appointment, waited over an hour only for the vet 2 serve 2 other people who came AFTER me. I was beyond patient kindly asked when it’s my turn and they had the nerve to take in somebody else who came in 35 minutes after me. What the point of making an appointment if you’re left waiting over an hour.

I regularly visit this clinic as I am a WIRES volunteer rescuer and I usually rescue and rehab birds of prey and owls. They have wonderful veterinary and nursing staff on hand to assist with all native wildlife rescues and assessments as I (or many other WIRES and probably Sydney Metro Wildlife) rescuers can bring to them.

I don’t recommend this place for avian
My bird died while hospitalised here, and the autopsy found that the treating vet’s cannula insertions created a cyst and ruptured the airsac.
I went here because it was one of the only specialist avian vets in Sydney. Throughout the treatment, I was arrogantly told by one of the vets that Canley Heights is significantly cheaper than other vets and “you get what you pay for”.

I am more than satisfied with the service & treatment my Indian Ringneck Parrot Culley has recieved at this Clinic , the staff & vet nurses are so friendly & caring & remember your name & pets name whenever I go .I first took Culley there about 2 yrs ago when I noticed a change in him he was seen by Teri & she did tests that showed he had lead poisoning she gave him an injection & explained to me how he could have got it ( it was from the second hand cage I was given by a friend) i had to take Culley back for more treatment over the next few weeks & he soon showed improvement . I was so impressed with Teri at how she explained everything i needed to know & has continued to do so as I now take Culley there whenever he needs to have his claws cut & if I’m just concerned about any changes I notice in him ( I’m a bit neurotic since he had the lead poisoning) both Teri & Ian are so patient with me & are so good to Culley . It is nearly an hour’s drive to the Clinic but it is so worth it & Culley enjoys the car ride, i would recommend this Clinic to anyone & there are also other vets there & dogs cats snakes rabbit’s etc are treated there

Called up this clinic as my normal vet was closed on Sundays. I wanted to see if I could bring my cat in as she has ripped out her stitches. Receptionist was extremely rude over the phone and said we close in an hour. I asked her what I could do as my cat now has an open wound and you can see her internal organs. Receptionist sighed and said “well if it’s an opened wound you’ll have to bring her in and it’ll cost you $300-$400 to stitch her up”. I wasn’t prepared to pay this amount so I bandaged up my cat and waited to take my her to my normal vet the next day and get her stitched back up for free. It cost me $60 to desex my cat but this clinic wants to charge $400 to stitch up the opening – what a joke!

Unfortunately our little one has been on the mend for the past month due to a multitude of issues but every single time we take him to see Dr Ian he treats him with the utmost care, consideration and professionalism.
The pricing is very fair and affordable. The charge is never what you’d expect for over night stays, medication and consultation.
The care Dr Ian and the staff provide at this clinic is the best we’ve ever encountered! Can not thank them enough for their support and care.

We’ve taken my bunny Squirt into this vet recently as she fractured her wrist and had 2 dislocated toes as well as a massive sty on her eye. Dr Teri was absolutely amazing she has so much care and knowledge and performed surgery on the day I dropped my bunny off. Called me at 8.45 at night to let me know it went well. My bunny has been in the best hands and I couldn’t be more happy with Dr Teri. Pretty decently priced also! Thank you to all the staff at Canley Heights Vet! ❤️

My bird sustained an injury on a Sunday. This was the only clinic available with an avian vet. I called up and was told they’re fully booked. When I told them about my birds injury they allowed me to bring him in right away.
Helpful ReviewDr Jana examined my bird and advised he needed to stay a couple of nights for treatment and monitoring. I was very distressed and crying a lot and she was very friendly and considerate of my feelings. A few other staff members tried to comfort me as well.
I called a day later to check on my birds progress and Dr Ian spoke to me and reassured me my bird was fine and I could take him home.
Dr Ian answered all my questions at the discharge consultation and didn’t rush me.
Very pleasant experience, at a very affordable price.

Excellent service and no pissing around. My bird caught its leg in a mouse trap and as soon as they opened (9am) i called and said just that, lady straight away said bring it in now. Got there, was so busy but everything was in and out. Professional handling and treatment straight away. Medication, reasonable price and we were out in 30 minutes.

If you’re looking for a veterinary clinic that only cares about money and running on time look elsewhere. I felt compelled to write this review as I don’t think telling this amazing team of knowledgeable, caring and compassionate human beings how thankful and grateful I am, will ever be enough.
Helpful ReviewI have been attending this clinic and the Austral one when it was open for over 22 years.
I have always been treated with respect and courtesy but more importantly at least to me is the care they have provided to my furbabies over the years.
I’ve made many appts for a checkup or if my furbaby was a little unwell that ran on time but have also had a few that haven’t and have waited to that has even made me sigh. However over the years I have watched these amazing people have someone rush in clutching their own furbabies begging for help and for them to spring into action, so having to wait while they provide treatment, caring and compassion to another is to me a sign that I’m in the right place.
I have provided this amazing team over the years with some difficult patients and some we’ve won and some we’ve lost. My boy Fido is one of their success stories I’ve had many more years and hopefully a few more with him he has a condition that isn’t curable but manageable and he has survived this long because they put in the time and effort and most of all care to each and every one they see.
Recently I was one of those people rushing in clutching my baby begging for help I can never thank the team enough for all they did to not only provide treatment but to diagnose the problem and provide me with the information and the knowledge I needed to make a heartbreaking decision that was right for my Bootsie.
To Julie the best vet nurse around words will never express my gratitude for the comfort you brought my boy and providing me with comfort when I fell apart. I had the privilege of seeing and hearing this amazing person when I basically camped out the back with my boy during office hours, provide all the animals there with words of encouragement, love and attention.
Dr Bill, thank you for your gentle handling of our little boy and giving us the time to process and mourn him, not once did I feel rushed or like we were just a transaction.
You are all simply wonderful people who care. Hopefully next time I see the team it will be for a wonderful boring running slightly behind time check up of one of my beloved furbabies, But if you’re running late I know why!!!

The woman who looked at my bird was extremely rude, we would ask a question and she would cut us off. We were extremely distressed in the way she was dealing with our bird no calming words to her nothing. I would like to thank the other staff who were kind and fit us in last minute we do greatly appreciate that!.

Found a dying kitten on the side of the road. When I took it in to canley heights veterinary.. They didn’t even bother to look what was wrong with the kitten. A vet only there for the money.. On the other hand wakeley veterinary was so helpful and friendly they quickly helped and saved the kitten.. Even when humans get injured no hospital turns them back.. Sad though doing a job not to save or cause they care / love animals. If you loved your pet and want some caring people to look after it..?

Friendly, kind, understanding and very compassionate to my dog?s situation. They really care about the wellbeing of the animals unlike other vets who just care about how much money you have in your wallet. They don?t over charge and are more affordable then most other vets around this area.
