I have been attending puppy preschool at this vets practice for a month, run by a nice young caring girl. My little dog is very vocal on the lead but a real softie off the lead.
Helpful ReviewWhen he was 12 weeks old I took him to Dog Overboard to have his nails clipped, not a problem , not a sound , all done behind glass but visible and over in a couple of minutes $15 excellent value and service.
Saturday just gone , he is now 16 weeks and his nails needed a little trim so I rang the vet as it was local, I was told if I popped in within half hour the nurse would do it and no charge , wow.
He was taken from us, out of sight, we heard this almighty yelp ( made my 9 year old granddaughter cry) the pained crying was horrible , stopped a while and started again.
He was brought out by a woman whom I think may be a vet (?) who said he had issues, maybe consider behaviour training or anxiety medication 😩 that they had tried to muzzle him without success (he is a 16 week old 3 .5 kilo puppy- a sock over the nose is kinder)
They then tried to charge me $30 but the lovely young nurse owned up to what she had told me, thank you.
I was so upset for my puppy and my granddaughter but so concerned myself that I went straight to DogOverBoard and it was found he had blood on his claw and they had not been properly clipped. They kindly, lovingly trimmed his nails and as we could see behind the glass he was in no pain and was as good as gold and the groomer sang to him throughout , it was over in a minute and she described him as a little angel. No charge. 😊
I am still waiting to hear back from the practice manager from Cardiff Vet Hospital.
Very poor form. An “expert “ blaming a puppy for their incompetence and putting the fear of God in the owner and a money making racket me thinks.
Shame on you 😢🐶

I would like to say a massive thank you to all the beautiful staff at Cardiff Veterinary Hospital. I lost my.pet Lorikeet and he had been missing for 2 days. Out of the blue I called Cardiff Veterinary Hospital and asked if they had anyone has handed him in. In less than 4hrs the friendly ladies at the Veterinary hospital called me to let me know that he had been handed in and I could come and pick him up. I can’t thank the staff enough for their time,help and assistance and for reuniting me with my Lorikeet. Seriously these guys are the best and so friendly. If you need Veterinary help please give them a call. I am sure you will be happy with their service and fantastic attitude to your loving pets. xxx

I want to thank Rachael, Scott and Carolyn for helping Diesel who had to have a large part of his bowel removed after eating 4 rather large rocks while chasing lizards in the garden. He had to have 2 operations as his bowel was so damaged and they had trouble stitching it together. This all happened a few days before Christmas but Rachael, Scott and Carolyn were so helpful and caring especially when they didn’t think he would pull through the second operation and I was a total mess. Diesel is doing well now but on struck eating plan. A very big thank you to all who looked after him and I will definitely recommend Cardiff vets to everyone .

We greatly appreciate Gail’s wisdom, experience & humour, and are always in good hands there. The nurses are a pleasure to deal with, and our cat, Hamish particularly likes Christen.😊
They were very helpful and accommodating when we had big problems after a lump biopsy – not their fault, trouble happens & healing is not easy if you open him up! 😬😖
Andrew has also been friendly and helpful🙂… we’ve been coming in for nearly 12 years now…

Receptionists continuing rude and have a disrespectful tone towards customers after any general enquiries. They don’t answer the phones – when it’s their job to do so.
The vets are good, however they need to work more on their time allocated to per customer.
They were amazing several years ago, now they’ve not.

Cardiff Vet Clinic helped my family with our unwell and beloved dog Balboa who sadly passed away. Balboa spent several days at the vet, whereby the staff made sure Balboa received the medical treatment he needed to give him every fighting chance. During Balboa’s final moments, the vet was very understanding and compassionate. We would highly recommend this caring vet.

Staff helpful and vets knowledgeable and kind. Passed me on to another vet for my rabbits surgery as they thought she would benefit the most from that (which is lovely that they took her needs into account instead of doing an extra surgery the vet wasn’t specialised in to get more money. I have been taking my cats there for a long time and it has always gone well with them
