This is a great shop, well stocked, with friendly staff and a wide variety of food, treats and toys. I would give 5 stars if not for the wash-your-dog cleaning bays which are a great addition to the store but which desperately need maintenance. Recently they have been left in very poor condition, filthy floors and doors, broken machinery (taped up hoses etc) and missing shampoo from the machine (with no refunds offered for a less than successful wash). This was a great facility when it first opened but really needs to be looked after to continue being great.

I usually use North Parramatta Petbarn DIY dog wash for my dog, but today I went to use Castle Hill Petbarn as I was in the area.
Upon arrival there was old mats of dirty dog hair clumped throughout the car park. Ignoring that I went to use the only one (of two) dog wash bays & the smell I was met with opening the door was horrible. There was more matted clumps of dog hair inside.
In addition to my wonderful experience there was no PayWave option.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Clearly, I do not recommend this Petbarn DIY dog wash ..

I am a first time pet owner. We took our pet rabbit in today to get her nails trimmed. I had spoken to Jo earlier on the phone and she answered all my questions thoroughly and provided me with lots of helpful tips. On arrival my rabbit and I were welcomed into the store. Jo was amazing! She went above and beyond to help us. I found her to be very pleasant and knowledgeable and obviously enjoyed her work and enjoyed pets of many kinds. She was genuinely interested in hearing about our rabbit and made some great recommendations and gave us lots of great tips. Thank you so much Jo! I would recommend Petbarn for all your pet needs. Poor service. I asked the store Manager, short full figured woman, if they had one or two sample dog food to try get my dog onto a more superior food but was advised that Petbarn does not offer this and does not provide sample food. I need to purchase a bag and return it if my dog foes not like it.

Staff were very patronising and rude and saw one of the staff members raise their eyebrows at another staff member when we questioned the price when there was a sale and there was advertising saying it was in store and online. The Petbarn at Castle Hill is lovely! The shop itself is filled with lovely employees that care about your needs. Although, the grooming department is the absolute complete opposite. Not one single care for you or your pet. Our dog has come home on multiple occasions in hysterics! They way they treat the dogs there is disgusting! We went to pick up our dog after a ‘groom’ and they were treating the other dogs getting groomed atrociously. Have been going here for years and seems that they have changed groomers. Will never go back here or ever recommend these groomers to ANYONE!
