Review Summary
Here's a summary of the most recent reviews on The Pet Community
'The Bird Place' is certainly a haven for bird enthusiasts, with a myriad of positive reviews praising its extensive variety of beautiful birds, well-priced range of toys, food, and accessories, and the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff. The unique feature of hand-reared, free-ranged birds has particularly won the hearts of many customers. Visitors also appreciate the caring and understanding nature of the staff, especially in times of distress, such as the loss of a pet. Despite some concerns raised about the birds' living conditions and post-purchase customer service, the overall consensus is that 'The Bird Place' is a highly recommended spot for bird lovers, owing to its excellent range, high-quality birds, and the staff's expertise.

Terrible place
Helpful ReviewIt’s a house not a business more then half of the birds are outside in the stinking hot weather some birds were inside about 20 crammed into one small cage all the birds looked upset and mad, felt really sorry for them. No covid check in, no “staff” wearing masks at all and the floor was stupidly dirty! Dodgy place avoid at all costs staff weren’t friendly at all just want money

Reviews on here seem to be all good or all bad. Mine is the latter. I guess it’s just depends on who serves you and how busy they are.
Helpful ReviewI wanted a male canary, so I waited about 20 mins for my turn to be served. Only appeared to be one person working that day, a young lady. I picked out a apricot coloured canary and said I’d like that one but only if it’s a male. She caught it and checked and said it was a male but young so it wouldn’t be singing right away. I was fine with that. Paid my money and left with my “male” canary.
6 months later still no singing but I waited on. 4 months later on “he” made a nest and laid 3 eggs!
Tried to get in touch with them via FB messenger as I know how busy they are and thought that would be the better way to contact them. Nope. They read the messages and then ignore them.
No care factor after purchase it seems. So now I have an expensive female canary that won’t sing but can die from getting egg bound, the other reason I never wanted a female.
Won’t buy from them again or recommend.

These guys know their stuff, saved me a vet bill by suggesting i treat my birds gout disease with detol, it worked wonders and saved me an arm and a leg at the vet.

great place, lots of toys and a very good variety of birds. the only problem was that the food was on the ground in the inside cages which could result in the birds getting very sick. but other reviews say that they are heathy so it might not a a big problem. And the size of the cage. Too small! still love the place highly recommend (:

What an absolute pleasure and experience going to The Bird Place👍
Helpful ReviewYou know you are in good hands when you go there and deal with Cass….you can tell she has a passion and love for all types of birds.
We have been fortunate to buy our two babies (plus cage and toys due to the large range).
If anyone is thinking of buying a feathered baby do yourself a favour and go see Cass or John.

Love The Bird Place, they have been around forever. I think that speaks for itself. The place is so clean and the birds are healthy. I have purchased two budgies from them in the past few years. John has always helped me with any questions either in store or over the phone. Late last year I purchased the most pretty grey budgie from them. Cass was very patient and helpful when I was choosing him. Bertie is very happy at his new home. Thanks guys. Best place in Adelaide to buy a bird or any accessories.

We have bought multiple sturdy cages from here. The first during the 2020 Covid saga and the second (an additional sturdy cage for outdoors) recently.
Helpful ReviewGreat quality cages. The owner is lovely. Very helpful without being pushy.
Great selection. If you are looking for a quality birdcage to last, this place has one of the best selections in Adelaide.

My daughter and I visited yesterday, we walked away with all the information and accessories required as well as the most delightful cockatiel.
She spent a long time saving up and researching. John was so helpful and patient.
Our little buddy, Pebbles fitted right in and is a very welcome addition to our family.
Thank you John.

I love the variety. They seemed quite pricey though and very pushy about the sale which came across as a money transaction rather than the sale of an animal. Just an opinion but I went elsewhere in the end as I prefer a warm conversation when investing in a long term pet.

Sold a Jenday as a Sun conure, took the bird back once grown and the man still tried to tell me it was a Sunny but it was not! My child slipped on the floor due to the excessive amount of bird seed shells and did not even receive an apology. There were dead and sick birds at the bottom of the cages that are set up in the same room my child slipped in. Would not recommend.
