Sat in the bistro for an hour and a half waiting for a meal with no staff even coming close to us to check up to see if we were ok after placing our order and noticing other patrons that arrived after us had been getting meals served.
Eventually we asked how long our meals would be to be told there was no record of ordering our meals. We were waiting patiently as we could see they were at around 50% seating capacity, ordered a couple of drinks in that time waiting but the meals never eventuated. I can’t give feedback on the meals as we didn’t get one!

Helpful ReviewWe booked our table of 6 for 7.30, unfortunately we weren’t told that the kitchen shut at 8 so dessert was limited to one option, very disappointed especially as it was a celebratory dinner and a bit confused as there was an option to book a table for 8.30. That aside we would definitely return (at an earlier time😊)

Do yourself a favour, whether a visitor to Bendigo or a local. Have a meal at the Lake View. Absolutely delicious. I had the pork belly…only downside…it came to an end.

We live in Melbourne and regularly visit Bendigo. This was our first visit to the Lake View Hotel. A wonderful experience. Excellent food and a nice range of beers. However the highlight of the evening was being served by Isaiah. Excellent service, wonderful person and accommodating. We witnessed an elder couple enter the hotel just after 8pm and Isaiah looked after them in a manner that was so respectful and accommodating. Absolutely amazing service. We could tell also that the couple we so appreciative of Isaiah. For this reason alone we will definately come back to the Lake View Hotel when next in Bendigo. Thank you Isaiah for making our weekend in Bendigo a memorable one.

Had an excellent experience at the Lake View Hotel tonight. We both ordered Fillet Mignon which was delicious and cooked to perfection. Service was excellent especially from Isaiah. Not only was he incredibly accommodating and helpful with us but we observed how amazing and respectful he was with other customers most especially an elderly couple who came in. Or first time here but we will definitely be back when we travel back to Bendigo which is a direct testament to the friendly service from Isaiah.

We had a great night at the Lakeview, staff were friendly, the drinks were good, even had Bendigo XPA on tap. We have prawn fettucine and fillet Mignon both were delicious.

Staff were welcoming and appeared to be well trained. Restaurant was very clean and a nice big open space so tables were at a good distance from each other (good for staff and patrons!). Had the pork belly with chimichurri prawns. The prawns were exactly the right amount of spiciness and the pork was beautiful and tender and the crackling was spot on. Would’ve given it 5 stars except I wasn’t a big fan of the cauliflower and fennel gratin. Texture was to thin and light for me and didn’t have much flavour to it. Would’ve been happier with the smashed potatoes that my partner had with her stuffed chicken breast. Good selection of beers and wine and reasonably priced.
