Helpful ReviewThe food was all delicious (we had 8 dishes including dessert 🙈), the wines were easy drinking and I liked more than I usually do which meant we bought some to take away. Lauren and James were very attentive and lovely- great staff!
The setting was relaxed and the night overall really good 🙂

The tuna – amazing, the squid, divine, the mushrooms, the chicken, the beef.. sooo tasty. The service was great, the dishes came out 2 – 3 at a time at a perfect rate to enjoy.

I was looking forward to visiting your restaurant but after I made the booking you let me know you are not pro choice but discriminate against those who choose not to be vaccinated. They took a socially significant structure then put staff in it that were knowledgeable friendly and fast combine that with a chef who knows his stuff and created a unique tapas dining experience and paired all of that with high quality matching wines and charged not a lot for the experience. What’s not to like. 5 stars. Perfection is sought but rarely achieved. Congratulations to them.

Venue recommended by friends so keen to try it out, unfortunately temporarily closed for Saturday night dining so tried for Sunday lunch. Luckily after phoning venue was able to secure table, as very popular so would recommend booking ahead.
Helpful ReviewWaiter explained dining concept, Tapas style menu where it was recommended to select 4-5 dishes to share per couple.Highly recommend squid, pork belly and barramundi shared dishes, cooked to perfection and squid sauce was sooo good. Paired it with Mr Micks Pinot Grigio which was light and complemented our meal.
Staff were excellent, so friendly, professional and helpful and the restaurant, although split into two buildings plus outdoor seating, had a great atmosphere. So glad we were able to experience dining at the Mr Mjcks, centrally located in Clare.

Did the Riesling Trail ride with friends between Auburn and Clare. We stopped by cafès instead wineries. We went in Mr. Mick as we arrived in Clare in the late afternoon and some cafès are closed.
Helpful ReviewIt was fully booked at the indoor dining area. The very friendly staff members managed a table outside near the fireplace for us even we just want snacks and coffee. Foods are very good too!
If you like wine tasting with good food and great services. You definitely should try Mr. Mick. But make sure you book your table as it looks very busy on the weekend.

Our group of 4 chose the Chefs Menu. Really delicious fresh tasty tapas that they made gluten free. I am the only coeliac but it was voted by all as the best meal while we were away for a week. Nice wines and lovely setting as well.

Outstanding: Staff, service, menu, wine, ambiance, value
Staff / Service: low key, knowledgeable, helpful, good attitude
Menu: a big change from the over-prepared, faux Asian Clare norm. The tapas style (with wine) is a great format. Portions are good for two. Squid, seared tuna, pork were excellent. The tuna came with a Japanese dressing (ponzu) and wakame (Japanese seaweed).
Wine: an embarrassment of good choices.
TAKE THE GLASS PER PLATE OPTION (refills seem to be free!)
Squid: Vermentino + a local (Riesling?)
Tuna: Pinot Grigio + a local
Pork: sensational. Our low key waiter / guide (Dylan) recommended their Rose. Crisply balanced the fatty texture of the pork with roasted apple sauce
Ambiance: tables chatting with each other over a long lunch, not a mobile phone to be seen
Value: the food is excellent, the wine seamlessly matched the food.

Looking for a place in Clare to have lunch and we came across this place which we were both pleased with. We didn’t choose Chef’s choice as we weren’t too hungry but I trust it would be a good option. We had several small shared dishes which were all delicious!

Perhaps a bad day for management!? Rocked up from bike ride at 4:26 pm when they have a 5:00 closing time. Told by first staff member we’d have to be quick to finish by 5 pm. We agreed we could do this. Suddenly either our server yelled at (it us!?) from behind the bar that we would not make their 4:30 closing time. We advised both internet and front sign stated 5 pm. Person behind bar continued to speak to us from their place across the restaurant advising we’d have to leave as serving us was not possible. Really embarrassing experience handled terribly by staff who felt telling us of a last minute 4:30 pm closing was acceptable. Trying to support regional SA businesses and clearly not wanted. Not impressed.
