We’ve driven past this Cellar Door on Caves Road without going in and now realise, what a terrible mistake! Knowledgeable, friendly customer service, beautiful grounds AND they make delicious wines too!
Duo Tony “Snake” Davis (with over 25 years’ winemaking experience) and Redmond “Herring” Sweeny (a wine connisseur with experience in marketing and sales) met in 2011, collaborated and Snake and Herring The Wine Odyssey was created.
Their wines are an expression of the individual styles and music choices, with their wines being named after some classic songs, such as….
Tainted Love (a delicious rose)
Perfect Day (a punchy SBS)
At First Sight (a tasty Grenache)
Cannonball (a full bodied mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot)
Just to name a few.
Along with their delectable wines they have quite a retail selection too – t-shirts, caps, wooden garden games, jewellery and have a small selection of cheeses etc for a DIY picnic in their shady outdoor area.
Why not taste their wines, buy a bottle and enjoy it while playing some outdoor games. Or sit back and enjoy the tranquillity while the kids play in the play area. Dogs welcome here also.

Disappointing that their business model doesn’t consider amortising credit card transaction fees into overall costs. Adding a 1.5% card fee at the end ruined the entire experience. I know of NO other winery in the region that does this.

I have always driven past here without going in and now realise what a mistake I have been making. We were taken here on a wine tour. They have great wine and the seated wine tasting was well done.

Loved S&H! Drank their wine before at Yarri, but visiting the cellar door is definitely worth it. Hopefully you get Alex — he was great! Stayed open late for us, and was an absolute cracker! Bought loads of wine + T-shirts and games. Can’t wait to go back!

Great location, friendly team members and the wine was superb. If you go to yarri at Dunsborough beforehand you get 15% discount on the wine. Cellar door has great outdoor location where you can bring your own hamper or have the team create you one at the cellar.
