My partner and I went for dinner and the food was lovely and the drinks were awesome (great craft beers). The staff were genuinely nice, professional and very helpful. Highly recommend this place if you want something a little more fancy but casual at the same time.

Great beer, mostly local
Good coffee
A solid cafe (and a bit more) on Darby.
The food is awesome and the staff will compensate for dietary requirements.
They have a great selection of craft beers.
I have been here a few times since the change and it it is just what Darby needed: a new exciting place to go.

Whilst the aesthetic of the cafe is magnificent and the staff were very helpful and pleasant, I can only give 3 stars. The breakfast menu is fairly limited with no big breakfast option and 2 corn fritter variants(odd). The limited menu is forgivable but not selling smoothies isn’t something I can get past. B&E roll was fine.

Recommended by a friend, we were not disappointed in Wil & Sons. Greeted on arrival like favourite cousins by owner Toby, we happened to be seated next to the chef’s parents, and adjacent to Toby’s parents. All very friendly three table conversation about the best on the menu. Needless to say we had a fun evening, eating delicious food. We were told the young apprentice chef had created a new dessert. A taste sensation. Atmosphere, food, service so good we returned for breakfast. Highly recommended.

Relaxed vibes with elegant food – what more could you ask for? We came for dinner and immediately felt at home. We had the fried cauliflower, seafood stew and croquettes and all were impeccable (the seafood was especially delightful and tender). The service was very friendly. Definitely going to come back!

We dropped in there a couple of weeks ago and have to say it was the best breakfast dining we have ever had. The scrambled eggs were delicious, the in-house hash browns – yummo! The best Chai latte I have ever had and the service was superb! Highly recommend. We will most certainly go back.

Went to Wil&Sons recently with friends for dinner. Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good without being spectacular. The service was well meaning and friendly but occasionally lax. You’ve got to give them marks for trying. They seem like a genuine crew.

Had a sensational night at Wil & Sons. The new menu had launched so we had zucchini croquettes with an amazing sauce, kinda a cross between mayo, tartare sauce with a bit of a bernaise-like twist. We also got the burrata with truffled honey – sublime. For mains we had the homemade gnocchi with mushrooms and swordfish with pesto, salsa verde and a sinfully smokey and creamy baba ganoush…a heavenly combination on both fronts. Grabbed a side of duck fat potatoes with rosemary and confit garlic, which was pure indulgence on a plate. For desert we shared the wonderful tiramisu – the savoardi werent drowned in coffee, with the desert having a lovely mouthfeel and a great balance of flavours. Waitstaff were bloody exceptional and contributed to making our anniversary a night to remember!

these guys come with good wraps and totally lived up to their rep. we had the best meal we have had in Darby St and the occasion was a delayed Mothers Day dinner (with Comedy Show) up the road to follow. they firstly impressed with a 50% Hunter Valley wine list including the delicious Belford Chardonnay from Tyrells. The snacks were scrummy with the prawn toast top rated. everyone seems to be doing awesome Cauliflower atm but I had to use my sourdour to vacuum up the last morsels. Finally the Rump was recommended and cooked perfectly and was hard to split from Seafood Stew. We had some time pressures to make a show and they moved heaven and earth to accommodate us. well done Wil & Sons. hope you are open after we the show for desert.

Absolutely loved the place. Warm and inviting decor, great coffee and food, but it was the friendly service from the barista that stood out. All the locals got a shout out as they entered and any none local like me was made to feel like a regular.

Overall had a nice experience. However we felt our choice of seat by the stairs, although a cute secluded spot, left us isolated and forgotten about.
We were left waiting 15 minutes to get water and order our food as another couple, that had come in after us, we’re already eating.
Saying that, the food and coffee was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Although we weren’t a big fan of the hash brown block.

This was so close to being a 5 for me. The service was absolutely incredible, everyone was so lovely and so accomodating and checked on our food and drinks multiple times to ensure everything was perfect. The food was delicious; we had the kingfish cerviche which was impeccable, the rump which melted in your mouth and had sauces bursting with flavour, the mussels which were the biggest, juiciest mussels I’ve ever eaten and cooked to perfection with a tasty broth – such a standout. The only let down for us was the cauliflower entree, which was so overpowered at some parts that it wasn’t enjoyable at all, but everything else outshone it and we had such an amazing dinner and pleasant dining experience. Recommending to all my friends, thanks for a delicious dinner

Sadly this cafe has gone the way of some others and are using the narrow/tall takeaway cups to make it appear you’re purchasing a large coffee when in fact you’re getting a small coffee for the price of a large. I do enjoy ticking off cafes that I’ll never bother with again.

My husband and I had our first date night out in years and we were definitely not disappointed with out experience at Will and Sons. The service was top notch and very attentive. I had a chilli margarita to begin with which was the perfect amount of warmth!! Our entrees were a great size and so well priced. Mains were delicious with the perfect balance of flavours! The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful when making suggestions.I can not wait to return and try the other meals and cocktails on the menu!! Thank you Wil and Sons for our perfect night out.

I have frequented this bar recently to taste their wine after an excellent initial recomendation of a Albert Bichot Beaujolais.
A fragrant and easy drinking glass of Red. Perfect to accompany or be paired with something light like chicken or cheeses.
The customer service shown by a server Bek and then later her colleague Jake was exceptional. Jake served me a tasting of a Shiraz, Tempranillo and Sangiovese, showed a sound product knowlege, though my recommendation still lies with the Beaujolais on the merit of enjoyment for an unseasoned palate like mine.
