The owner and practice manager are dicks. They treat the students like slaves , leaving them unsupervised with very sick animals and no guidance. If you think your pet is getting taken care of you’re wrong. After surgery they’re left by themselves waking up from anaesthetic very scared and sick. Our dog was left shaking and traumatised after a relatively minor procedure which cost a fortune! They’re rude and only care about money. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Vaccinated two kittens, one after treatment of an eye infection/conjunctivitis. Very professional and gentle, explained issues, clean and well setup vet, appointments easy with reminders, no long queues.

The best vet practice in the Blue Mountains. Great vets and nurses. They are very gentle and kind to your fur baby. Excellent diagnosticians and the level of veterinary care is superb. Reasonable prices for treatment and care.

The staff are lovely here.
However, the pricing is really quite expensive. Our dog came in two weeks ago to get stitches. The initial consultation plus surgery came to just over $900. This was not an emergency consultation, just a regular one.
A couple of days ago the stitches were removed and today the site split again. We called our regular vet in Blackheath to see whether he could fit us in because there was no way we could pay $900 again. Our dog was in and out of surgery today and the whole thing cost us $450.

Our cavoodle was attacked by our other dog and ended up with 2 broken back legs with strong suggestions we may need to see a specialist. Vet Lyn analysed the x-rays and confidently went ahead with the complicated surgeries our dog needed. After months of check up’s and a minor set back which was no fault of the vet, our dog is back to his old self, fully healed and happy. Lyn and the other staff members of Selwood Vets were incredibly kind, caring and genuine throughout our whole experience which made our difficult situation a little more bearable. Knowing we had such great people looking after our dog made us and our dog feel at ease every time we went there for a check up. They honestly went above and beyond to ensure our dog was healing well and that we were comfortable every step of the way.

We love Selwood so much! They have been so supportive and kind toward us from the beginning of our dog owning journey. We found the puppy preschool really helpful and the knowledge and support provided by Dr Lynn and the vet nurses was exceptional. We had other friends attend puppy preschools at similar times at other establishments and the quality difference was astounding. Worth every cent!
The routine preventative care has been excellent and our dog has come to love going to the vet. This proved especially valuable when we required care and treatment for problems as our dog already knew and trusted the staff at Selwood and was happy to submit to the procedures required.
We have found the communication to be superb, with staff clearly outlining options and associated costs so that we could make informed decisions. We have appreciated knowing what to expect, with costs to date mostly coming in less than quoted – a much better surprise than the reverse situation!
It is clear to me that the staff at Selwood genuinely love the animals they care for and are also extremely empathetic towards owners as they face the difficult choices that come when your beloved pet is sick. We are so grateful to know we have people we can trust to help us provide our beautiful dog with health care when he needs it.

Extremely disappointed with the treatment we received on Saturday. Our dog was attacked by a stray dog in my dads garage while tied up with my partner working beside her. When the emergency vet suggested we follow up with a 1 week checkup with our regular vet I didn’t expect we would be treated as if our dog was the offending dog. I’m so very grateful that it was our GSD who was attacked, If it was our cavoodle, he would be dead – end of story.
I’m sorry that you’ve obviously had some bad experiences which have affected how you treat particular breeds but you are a veterinarian, we are your customer and as responsible dog owners we were just trying to follow the recommended aftercare that was suggested after an extremely traumatic incident.
While Selwood has been great with all our other animals past and present, it is unfortunate that Laurence cannot hide his disdain of certain breeds. The rest of the team have always been welcoming and compassionate.

Vet Lyn is an expert when it comes to ferrets. Her knowledge & care for these furkids makes it well worth the travel to see her. The nursing staff are also wonderful ppl who take an active interest in ur pets. Love this place
