I LOVE this club!!! I have trained with other clubs in the past and have never met a greater bunch of people. The trainers (who, by the way, are volunteers) give up their weekends to help us make our puppies/dogs become wonderful, obedient and well mannered animals that people other than myself can enjoy.
I’ve been taking my girl to TDTC for the last 12 months, and she just loves the place…when we turn onto Churchill Park roadway, she becomes so animated and impatient, I can’t get her out of the car fast enough. I always leave feeling satisfied and happy.
I can’t say enough about the knowledgeable, patient and fun people who make this club what it is, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get the best out of themselves and their dog.

I have trained with my dogs at this club for many years, doing puppy class, obedience, rally, tracking track and search and scent work. I found all their instructors highly knowledgable in all these areas. They are very helpful, patient and willing to go the extra mile to help with any problems. All volunteers, they obviously love dogs to give up their Sundays to help Northern Tasmania dog owners bring out the best in their dogs and enjoy living with their 4 legged friends. Highly recommended.

The people who volunteer their time to train and educate people and their dogs are fantastic. My dogs have grown and developed into wonderful trialing dogs. Their care and attention to each member is outstanding.

It is disappointing that the Launceston City Council don’t police the area with the amount of people with dogs off leash. Every day there are people walking around the Churchill Park and heritage Forrest areas with their dogs off leash. There have been incidents where ignorant people have had their dogs off leash where they have attacked dogs on lead at trials or at training. Instead of taking ownership of their mistake or lack of knowledge of the by-laws, they become abusive towards others and the people whose dogs their dog has attacked.

The behaviour of some of these people who don’t understand dog etiquette and say “my dog is friendly” is, at times, abusive an appalling. This club is run by a group of wonderful volunteers who have over 100 years of combined dog training experience. People could learn what is appropriate with handling and managing dogs rather than being self professed experts.

I look forward to undertaking further training from the club and they should be commended for the valuable education that they provide the dog owners of Launceston and Greater area.

I have been taking my young dog to Tasmanian Dog Training Club for 12 months and have found all the volunteer instructors to be very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We have completed beginner and basic obedience, and recently done an introduction to tracking and scentwork. Despite my dog being a little boisterous and a bit of a handful at the best of times, the instructors are very patient with him and make us feel welcome regardless. I highly recommend this club.
