I’m really glad I found Scotty. He does a great job grooming our dog at a reasonable price and it’s so convenient having him come to us.

I have known Scott for 15 years and in that time I have found him to be honest, friendly and reliable. He’s great with dogs and some run into the bath on their own. Just like kids though, sometimes you get a whiner and complainer; they’re scared of the clippers and dryer, especially around the face and paws. But with patience and perseverance most dogs get used to it. In rare cases a trip to the Vet and sedation is the only solution. It’s expensive and not without risks though.

I would highly recommend Scotty’s Dog Wash & Grooming. He’s been running his business for 20 years and that’s a great testimony in itself.

Interesting review on this business which seems to be listed twice, the second listing having popped up after I wrote my review a few weeks ago which was not very flattering. What is also interesting is that the person who wrote the review sent me a private message on Facebook shortly after I posted about my experience with Scotty on several pages about poodles and oodles in Perth. In this message she posted the same photo (which is a generic one off the net and not my dog), and told me this article which was attached to the photo, might be of interest to me. I tried to engage her in conversation, as she was obviously trying to insinuate that my poodle was in a similar state when Scotty attempted to groom him. She did not respond and then blocked me. I was in no way rude, but was most certainly annoyed at the accusation, especially as she made no attempt to actually engage in a conversation. This was pretty much how Scotty dealt with my initial complaint when I finnaly got a hold of him over the phone- cutting me off, then telling me that anyone would have done a terrible job with my dog and to not ring him again- hanging the phone up. Pretty rude. I rang back to inform him what would happen from here on and that he had till close of business that day to fix this. He did no such thing, hence my reviews, to try and save others from a similar experience.
Just to be very clear, my poodle of 8 months had been groomed 3 times before Scotty got him, he was also groomed 3 weeks earlier at Wagz, where he came back with no probems and looking great. No matts were found and his hair was even and well groomed. I didn’t get him cut short enough at the time, and the weather got hotter, he was wasn’t enjoying how hot it was making him, that’s why I got Scotty in. I couldn’t get him back to Wagz for a couple of weeks, as they were fully booked. He was also brushed thoroughly the night before. I explained all of this to Scotty…I’m assuming he doesn’t remember as he wasn’t terribly interested in anything I had to say and just wanted to get the job over and done with …hence the bad groom! I’m pretty sure what has been done here, creating a second listing on google to attempt to bring ratings back up, goes against google policy. It is at the very least dishonest! It has been reported to google and is also why I am writing this review.
It also seems the person that wrote the 5 star blurb about matting above, actually runs an accounting business (a quick Google of her name will show this)…so is not a dog groomer. One has to wonder what her connection is to Scotty?
Am I still annoyed at Scotty and his lack of care…you bet! I run a business and value costumer feedback, good or bad. Scotty had every opportunity to remedy this situation before it escalated to this, but he chose to be dismissive and flippant.
I would advise anyone to stear clear of this business.

As Scott’s partner of 15 years I have seen hundreds of happy dogs and owners come through our home via Scott’s business. I’ve seen dogs walking into the bath on their own and running around our garden excitedly as Scott has a bit of fun with them whilst waiting for their owners to collect them. Some dogs come and sit with me in my office where they get lots of fuss and attention from myself and my staff. They are all pretty happy with their new hair do and so are their owners.
Am I a client? Well i don’t own a dog but Scott has groomed my cat. Was she impressed? no…. she’s a cat! …. she didn’t particularly like being groomed … but I was impressed! Does that count ?
I might add that it took her all of 5 minutes to forgive Scott before she jumped back on his lap as soon as he sat down.
I’m a BAS agent with my own bookkeeping business which I run from my home office. I see plenty of happy customers and their dogs who are genuinely fond of Scott. It’s evident he loves his work, he loves dogs and despite the fact that some of them don’t like to be bathed and groomed it’s quite obvious that they love Scott.

I used a few years ago but didn’t realise until after he didn’t want to groom my dog anymore because we’d moved that my dog was scared of him. Each time he came my dog shook uncontrollably but I thought it was coz he was a sook. Not until I had to use someone else did I realise it was not normal. He didn’t like his job but I guess I it’s your business you’ve got yo keep going. Shame that he doesn’t like his work. My new groomer is unreal and my dog loves her. Unable to get into her for 12 months.
