First time attending this clinic after needing an emergent surgery for my Burmese kitten who ingested sewing thread 🙈.. All care team members were friendly and very accommodating.

Prices were super competitive too (other places quoted me thousands more for the same procedure and couldn’t fit him in the same day).

Bubs has pulled through surgery without issue.

Would definitely recommend and utilise their services again! Hopefully for just routine things in the future though haha. Thanks team!

The front desk lady was lovely, but the rest of my experience was far from that, i was nervous coming here already with some of there terrible reviews but i bit the bullet, A vet named Gary did only 2 tests, which by the way didn’t at all seem legit, one of the tests he had a cotton ball and just dropped up and down and the other he shined a light into his eye can you believe those lame tests cost me $150 which is absolutely ridiculous as a 16 year old girl having to pay that, he diagnosed my cat with iris pigmentation but i still had a bad feeling a took him else where he was later diagnosed with iris melanosis if i hadn’t taken him to the other vet no action would have been made, He is booked in to get his eye removed now!!
i strongly believe these people do not truely care about your animals, or just don’t know about animals,
please do not take them here and cause yourself the hassle.

My cat had been vomiting bile for two days, I couldn’t get in with my regular vet so I booked with Woofpurnay.
I had to wait 60 minutes to be seen, then when I finally saw vet Gary Stapleton, he seemed to dawdle in the appointment and after a very brief examination, told me she was otherwise ok and just needed her diet changed and gave me paraffin oil for her hair balls.
I knew something was still wrong with her, so I got a second opinion yesterday.
After a more careful examination and an in house blood test, we found my cat had extremely elevated kidney enzymes and was in stage 4, and that she was born with polycystic kidneys and she had finally succumbed to the disease.
I had to make the difficult decision to put her to sleep, but I am so disgusted with the unprofessionalism of this clinic and that I had to pay $85 for this service.
If you care about your animals, I would suggest taking them anywhere else but here.

      Dear Ebony

Firstly we are sorry to hear of your loss of Luna. From the blood test and ultrasound description of her kidneys and her history of IBD, it sounds as though her kidneys have been a problem for some time and possibly the high level of Urea was related to her irritated bowel.

Whilst we didn’t press you, we did note that you were told that imaging and a blood test may be helpful in shedding some light on her condition and could be done at the time, but you told us that Luna had been diagnosed with chronic IBD, which may have been a cause of her vomiting.

We also noted and you pointed out her rather excess molting which we explained could be a cause or an effect of her condition. We also mentioned hospitalising her and putting her on fluids. You seemed nonresponsive and we assumed cost was a consideration or that you were annoyed at having to wait an hour before being attended to.

You indicated that you were content to monitor her for 24 hrs and try her on the oral parrafin oil. Then if she didn’t respond favourably take it further with us or your usual vet.

It sounds as though Luna had a degenerative kidney condition for some time and had you agreed to a blood test at the time of the examination we would have taken a different course of action.

Had Luna shown signs of dehydration, poor capillary refil, shock or severe discomfort we would have been more insistent on further investigation. Had you shown a greater willingness to further investigation we would also have been forthcoming.

We feel our course of action at the time was appropriate and is a reflection of our approach to the well-being of pets and with reasonable consideration of the financial restraints experienced by individuals in these uncertain times.

We do apologise for the long wait time. We appear to be having unprecedented requests for appointments along with walk-ins and emergencies.

For this reason alone and if you are experiencing financial hardship along with your loss of Luna we are more than happy to refund the $85.

We acknowledge that you have been in touch via email and we welcome further correspondence via this channel. Alternatively we can arrange a time for you to discuss this further with Gary. Regards, Woofpurnay Veterinary Hospital

Another huge thank you to Gary and his team for all your help with my little man Midknight. It’s a great thing when your dog LOVES to go to see his vet. Gary is awesome with him and it’s a pleasure bringing him here. Gary has helped Midknight so many times in his first year. The love Gary has for the animals is amazing and he knows exactly what they need. I can not speak highly enough of Gary and everyone who works here. Nicky Johnson.

A Huuuge THANK YOU to Gary and his amazing team who took on my pregnant Frenchie last minute as I was told by another vet (after attending all leading up appointments) that they would no longer be able to help during certain dates a week out from delivery!! I frantically called around, and a friend recommended Gary and sent me his number as he helped her as well with her very old sick dog when no one else would because it was a public holiday, Gary and his team were the only ones who would take us on as frenchies need elective C sections, Gary is well experienced kind and empathetic they truly care about your animals and I feel at ease going to the vets it’s such a pleasant experience now!
I am so Happy and grateful that I found Gary If I could give all the stars and raving reviews I would! THANK YOU WOOFPURNAY from the bottom of our hearts our family feel so happy our dogs are in the best capable hands 💛🐾🐾🐾

What an experience. Thank you to the amazing receptionist (cant remember her name sorry) and to Gary and the lovely nurse for taking amazing care of Tommy my cat.

Everything happens for a reason, and i just so happened to book with Woofpurnay because my vet was booked out; and im glad i did!!

My cat had a tooth removed, a problematic claw clipped, received antibiotics and saline. Tom is now strutting around a few hours later free from pain!!

Looking at some of the reviews, there are 1 stars but no record of those customers on file according to Woofpurnay… Fake customer reviews are obvious.

After having initially been to another clinic to have our puppy’s leg looked at, we made the smart decision to come to Woofpurnay. Their experience and care meant our puppy’s leg was accurately diagnosed and appropriate measures could be taken to get it on the mend. Plus all facilities needed onsite to ensure your pet gets what it needs.
Would absolutely recommend Woofpurnay to anyone who is considering visiting.

have reported him to the vet board
    have spoken to several vets

If I could give no stars I would. Gary is a DANGEROUS VET. After treating my brother’s cat for months, he ended up dying from a simple infection that should have been an easy treatment. He ended up taking him to another vet before he died and was told the procedure was not at all usual and was incredibly dangerous. He died two weeks later from the side effects of this “experimental procedure” and he found out afterwards that his was not the first cat to die in his care after undergoing the same procedure. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!!

i had a hand nursed kitten that i brought in with concerns of her constantly crying and her being EXTREMELY underweight for her age. gary completely neglected my concerns and basically implied that i was stressing myself out. little did i know that a few days later she would die of fading kitten syndrome. the first red flag was her being extremely underweight yet that was pushed to the side. i called after she died and said i want a refund and they refused. please do not go to this vet. i’m warning you. i’ve seen other reviews that relate to gary concerning misdiagnosis and overdosing animals. again please reframe from going to this vet. if i has gone to another or vet or if he had listened to my concerns my kitten wouldn’t of died.

Although Gary is very personable, he is terrible vet. My family has been seeing Gary for many years and I always thought he was an amazing vet because he is so lovely and has so many years of experience. I started doubting this when my he treated my dog for a skin condition for months on end without improvement. After going to a specialist, he told me they had confirmed his diagnosis and to continue treating. After many more months I decided to trial another vet and when checking the history from the specialist it had actually said it was NOT what Gary had said it was. I have spent thousands of dollars trying to treat this condition and for a vet to lie to me to continue getting service is horrific.

As good and friendly as Gary and the staff were, our fur baby was misdiagnosed. Was informed by vrh that she had lymphoma, went here due to word of mouth and affordability only to be told after examination, ultrasound and X-ray that she has pyometra and will need surgery costing us over $2000, she was given an injection and antibiotics. It took affect before she suddenly spiralled downhill so we were advised to take her to the Casey Pet Emergency lastnight, they were amazing, caring and friendly. After examination we were told she was infact riddled with cancer (lymphoma) and bleeding on her insides and that unfortunately we have no options except to put her to rest and out of pain and suffering. Lastnight we lost a part of our family due to a misdiagnosed condition. I wouldn’t recommend this place. 💔

Dear Brodie, we have no record of a patient under your name, which makes it very difficult to look at the finer details of what may have happened. You mentioned the treatment took effect before the dog spiralled downwards. We don’t know the age of the dog or the time from which pyometra was diagnosed to when the dog was presented at the emergency clinic. It may have had multiple conditions, but I cannot give you any further advice on the information you have provided.

We would be interested in discussing this further. We need to know the name of the patient and the owners name that the patient was booked under. Could you please get in touch with us via email: pets@woofpurnayvet.com.au or we can arrange a time for you to talk with Gary on 03 8784 4444. Regards, Woofpurnay Veterinary Hospital

I took my kitten to this vet after he had been vomiting. He showed no other symptoms. I saw a male vet I think his name was Gary, he didn’t even weigh my kitten, then proceeded to administer a steroid to him. I paid $200 and got an invoice which stipulated what my kitten had been given. The steroid was way too much for a kitten his size, and the morning after I took him home he began vomiting severely. I took him to a second vet for a different opinion and showed her the invoice, she informed me that she believed my kitten had been overdosed. He simply should have administered an anti-nausea.
    Please avoid this vet.
