Beautiful surroundings, we loved being in the lap of nature. Our cottage was clean and had all of our basic needs…there was even stuff kept for our husky. The wren, the kookaburras, parakeets, parrots, the kangaroos were an absolute delight as were the resident farm animals. My son, Aunty and my spouse and I enjoyed the games room too. 100% recommended for an amazing nature holiday

We hosted a Yoga and Wine Retreat at King Parrot Cottages last weekend and absolutely loved our stay. The lodge with hall formed the perfect setting for a yoga studio ‘feel’ and the views are truly stunning. All 12 retreat guests equally loved it, and we can’t wait to retreat here again for our April yoga getaway. Also, Nicole – the owner – was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to all email queries. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic place. Thank you Nicole and Ryan for making our stay so relaxing and dog friendly. Blackwood Cottage was spotless and very comfortable and we couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful spot to be in during our 5 night stay. We are hoping to be back again next year.

We have recently had our wedding at king parrot cottages and we were blown away with everything. From great communication throughout all the Covid rescheduling right up to the day. Ryan went above and beyond on the day transporting guests around the property and making sure everything was running smoothly. The stunning property itself is and the beautiful cottages were more than we could have hoped for. We cannot wait to come back to king parrot. It’s a very special place and Nicole and Ryan do it great justice.

We absolutely loved our stay at King Parrot cottages! ❤️ our family booked 3 of the cottages for 2 nights to attend my sisters wedding which was taking place in a nearby town and we were all so thrilled with our cottages from the first moment we arrived on the beautiful property till we drove away two days later vowing we would be back to stay again. The property is huge and so lush and gorgeous. So green and fresh and peaceful – lovely views. The cottages are all within great proximity to each other but not too close to each other at all! You get all the privacy and peace you need but it’s only a short stroll to visit friends or family staying in other cottages. The accommodation is extremely clean and has been decorated and equipped very thoughtfully. On top of all the usual items you’d hope to find in a cottage kitchen there was also a toaster and sandwich press and a coffee plunger! Plus a microwave to heat up some essentials like heat packs and hot chocolate! There was a bag of delicious ground coffee and some lovely local jam and delicious T2 teas that we really enjoyed. So nice to have the fireplace too and also dual heating and cooling wall units. I spoke to Nicole (one of the delightful owners at King Parrot) a few times when I needed advice over the phone and she was always incredibly helpful and lovely to speak to. I would highly recommend King Parrot cottages! I’m looking forward to staying there again one day. Also – I nearly forgot to mention! They’re pet friendly ❤️

I can highly recommend King Parrot Cottages if you are planning a yoga retreat! The nature around you is lush, the venue a beautiful designed & comfortable, great yoga shala where you can put up to 20 mats out, lots of activities around you can plan and….. AMAZING hosts! Nothing was too much I asked, prompt services & replies and Nicole & Maggie are absolute superstars! We will be back! Ps. Kitchen was recently renovated and our chef was absolutely happy with equipment!

Great place, very clean, high quality accommodation. A rate property where you see attention to detail and provision of high quality tea (T2), coffee, local jam. High quality towels, comfortable bed. Property is easy to reach and right in the forest.

The Lodge and Hall is such a great venue for a group gathering. Beautiful views of the valley, cosy spaces to sit and sleep, excellent kitchen set up to cater for lots of people, and great trails to explore the site. King Parrot is becoming an annual destination for our group and would definitely recommend

My (now) Husband and I held our wedding at King Parrot Cottages in April ’22. The property is stunning and well maintained. The campground ‘down the hill’ set the scene for our magical forest wedding amongst the tree ferns, lush grass and towering eucalypts. Their deck overlooking the valley was perfect for our reception. All our guests stayed on site in the cosy cottages (or glamping tents we hired, if that’s your thing!), which meant we could hang out, enjoy food and drink, explore the walking tracks in the days before and after the ceremony.
Helpful ReviewRobyn was very helpful with correspondence throughout the lockdowns and after an ownership handover, Nicole took good care of us! We were able to do a number of site visits to make sure we could plan every detail to perfection. They were clear and answered all our questions regarding postponement due to lockdowns. They were generous with allowing us to store furniture items on site in the lead up to the completely DIY mid-week wedding.
The wedding and our entire stay was nothing short of perfect!! We had the wedding of our dreams at this venue, and we’ll be back anytime we need a blissful getaway. The photos should speak for themselves 🙂

What an absolutely incredible venue for our wedding. When we first checked out KP for a potential wedding venue we knew instantly we would have it here. It was the perfect balance between rainforest and farm, whist also having a touch of luxury with the great layout of the beautiful lodges and rooms. These all felt welcoming, cosy and super clean.
The ceremony area, a natural amphitheatre under the rainforest canopy is magical and we were able to conduct our entire ceremony with the use of a microphone and small Bluetooth speaker for our songs. We had the occasional welcomed interruption of parrots in the trees above.
The hall and it’s outlook are incredible and easy to style it your own way with great resources available including tables, chairs, crockery and decorations.
The staff including owners Nicole and Ryan and their dog Frankie and the care takers Maggie and Kal were all relaxed, accomodating and very helpful throughout the whole weekend. They enabled us to have the most perfect wedding done our way without stress. The beautiful horses, donkeys and alpacas added to the fun weekend too.

The peaceful location, rustic but lovely accommodation, and thoughtful little extras (such as T2 tea, quality BBQs, hammocks spaced between trees to read a book) made this a perfectly lovely weekend away. The rainforest walk was spectacular. We will be back.

This place is a must visit and for atleast 3 nights min to enjoy each and every thing it has to offer. Serene and peaceful. Drive is just gorgeous, takes you from Oatway National Park. Lorne, Colac are just less than 30 mins away. I must mention about the great customer service. Nicole and Ryan are an amazing hosts. For us 3 nights were not enough and hence we will definitely visit again.

Nic, Ryan Kal and Maggie are wonderful hosts there is nothing they won’t do to make your stay pleasurable. The moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by resident pooch Frankie also. This idyllic picturesque setting g in the heart of the pennyroyal Valley is divine and remote. It was refreshing to go off grid in our glamping style accommodation. Our weekend exceeded all our expectations the quality amenities were greatly received by my guests. We highly recommend you book your wedding, anniversary, special occasion and hiking adventures at King Parrot Cottages. You will be refreshed and relaxed in nature’s paradise. Birdlife and kangaroos are an added natural wonder. We will return thanks so much.

Excellent venue that provided a much a needed break from the city. I LOVED that it was pet friendly and my babe (toy poodle) thoroughly enjoyed being taken on walks and saying hi to the horses. The cottage was in excellent condition and I immediately felt at home the moment I stepped in. As a single travelling by herself (and my toy poodle) I felt safe and at peace on the gorgeous estate. Will definitely be back!

Our stay a King Parrot was about creating memories, as my Dad is unwell. And that we did! We stayed in Manna gum a single storey accomodation perfect for those less mobile. There was 10 of us. The accomodation was well equiped, and surprisingly spacious, comfortable and super clean. Staff from the owners right through to the caretakers were warm and welcoming, and happy to have a yarn. It has something for everyone: from Nonnas to little Nieces and Nephews. The gorgeous scenery and nature that surrounded us, was just magic! Couldn’t have taken my Dad to a more beautiful place.
