Chris and Charles are the perfect hosts and our pets had special play time with their six dogs. Accommodation is very good and only a short distance from the town centre.

Dropped in to see owners Chris and Charles. We have visited Must Love Dogs many times and it’s the place to stay if you want to pamper yourself as well as your pets.
The three suites each offer their own unique character as well as a large secure outdoor area for your dog to enjoy. High quality Aboriginal artworks adorn the walls of the suites and dining area courtesy of Aboriginal Exhibitions Gallery. Their main gallery is at the cellar door of De Bortoli Family winery just down the road at Rutherglen Estate.

This is our go-to B&B when we visit NE Victoria! We’ve stayed here several times over the years and each stay was comfortable and relaxing for us and our dogs.
Chris and Charles are delightful hosts and cater to their guests needs – furry and human ones! Our boys (rough Collies) love having their own private garden to run around in, and enjoy sharing it with us for a relaxing afternoon tea made by Chris.
The suits are clean and well-appointed and we’ve stayed in both at different times. It’s hard to pick a favourite!
Having breakfast outside is comfortable in all weather because they have a clear roller shade on exposed sides and the best heat lamps ever! Chris always makes something different and delicious for breakfast, and Charlie’s wine tours (dogs are included!) are relaxing and fun.
I highly recommend staying at Must Love Dogs. Chris and Charle’s dogs are well-socialised, and the other guests’ dogs my boys have met have all been dog and people friendly as well.

Must love dogs is a lovely country b&b an easy walking distance from rutherglens main street. Chris is a wonderful host with spot on local eating recommendations as well as providing the best breakfasts. Our border collie felt right at home and we were very comfortable.

Delightful stay. Absolutely looked after by the hosts, very friendly and charming, and delicious breakfasts! Comfy bed, all required amenities, short walk into town. Pet friendly for your dog, and friendly for dog-lovers – we loved meeting the furry gang. Really enjoyed our stay.

Where do I start…?! This is a Doggy paradise! Ebony (5yo black Labrador Assistance Dog) gives it 5 paws 🐾 we humans give it 5 stars. Chris and Charlie were the penultimate hosts; the breakfast was stunning and the little extra treats Devine. We were made to feel so welcome that we will be back!!

Absolutely amazing, we had the best time, Everything was perfect and we are so happy that we could bring our doggo asher, he had a blast and it was awesome to have the yard for him to run around in and throw the ball around.

Chris is a wonderful host and the breakfasts are excellent. Chandelier room was lovely with loads of character.
Highlight are all the dogs joining for breakfast.
100% would stay again.

If you have Dogs, then this is the place to stay. The food was fantastic, the hospitality was awesome.
I highly recommend the Devonshire Tea. We ordered it and was served with 6 scones for the humans, and a scone for the puppies.

Recently stayed overnight on a roadtrip from Syd to Melb, but could have easily stayed longer. Love that our little dog could stay with us. Chris was a wonderful host and the stay was very personalised, with a cooked breakfast and great conversation in the morning. Lovely clean Garden Suite and just a short walk into the main street. Highly recommend!

This is the best dog friendly B&B my partner and I have ever been too! We were newly married and went on our honeymoon here. Not only were Chris and Charlie welcoming, friendly and great company, so were their dogs! Our boxer girl really enjoyed her time with the other dogs and in the pool of course! There was everything we required, very relaxing, well-located and plenty of wineries and restaurants around to visit (also dog friendly). They also arranged homemade scones and a winery tour for us with Charlie, which we really enjoyed knowing our boxer was in good hands. Thank you Chris and Charlie, and we will certainly be back!

A wonderful BnB experience. This was a last minute booking for us as we could not cross the border and Chris was so accommodating. They really have left no stone unturned and this place has everything you need. Their dogs are adorable and the decor is super cute. Thanks for having us!
