Reviewed on GoogleWhat a perfect location for a wedding.
Helpful ReviewThe owners Cheryl and Keith are absolutely amazing.
We stayed in the Kookaburra cottage, the night of our wedding. Such a perfect setting to start the next chapter of our lives.
We couldn’t thank them both for the chance to hold our wedding here.
Highly recommend

Reviewed on GoogleWhat a fantastic little find! Comfortable, warm, huge property and a great little cottage for the family for a two night stay. (Note: we were running behind time and i didn’t get a chance to get photos prior to us leaving I.e. we’d just finished cleaning up so the intent is to show the facility not the condition you’ll arrive in).
We jumped on Stayz and found this little gem working with Cheryl and Keith (the owners) to arrange our stay.
Welcome: welcome is an understatement, Cheryl and Keith greeted us with a big welcome. Let us know what is going on in the area and what’s on the property. Cheryl’s little hobby is great for the kids (book and find out what this is). Really easy to deal with and friendly, willing to help with any request and make your stay beautiful.
The property: the 20 acres of property is beautifully maintained with a dam, a small hobby farm with alpacas and chickens, mini golf, playground, about 8 acres of grassland to run around on, and bush for exploring (you’ll see plenty of kangaroos and wombats if you’re quiet). The BBQ area is common and seats about 8. The spa is an 8 seater and in a little private undercover. You’ll wake up to pretty much only the sounds of nature and if you’re up early there is a mob of around six kangaroos that obviously enjoy the open grass area like we did.
Accomodation: the accommodation on the property is the B&B Kookaburra Retreat and two cottages. We stayed in cottage two (the furthest in the property). This clean, comfortable and just great cottage has a master bed with a big double (potentially queen), two singles in bed 2, bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen with oven, cook top, microwave, fridge and pretty much everything you need to cook up (refer to photos). The fire is loaded on arrival and easy to light for when the weather cools and warms the place nicely. Keith is always about for resupply if you have a wife like mine who would live on planet Mercury if she could. The beds are comfortable and soft with everything you need for a good nights sleep including electric blankets.
Overall: the experience overall is outstanding for an escape from the rush and just to relax and take in the country atmosphere with some great historical places in Smythesdale to see (check opening times of the pub and other places to make sure you don’t plan and then find they aren’t open) but you’re only under ten minutes out of the Delacombe Town Centre which has almost everything you need to supply yourself.
Thanks to Cheryl and Keith again and see you soon.

Reviewed on GoogleCabins are clean and warm. The owners supply a good amount of wood for the fire. We used the supply a bit early but we were able to get another barrow load to last us until we leave on Monday morning. The owners are very nice and friendly. Would recommend staying here to anybody. Very family friendly with kangaroos lazing around the grounds and :Nugget:the family dog is very friendly as well. There is a very good area for kids with swings, cubby house, mini golf, slide and monkey bars also a firepit. There is a water course near the play area so small children would need to be supervised.

Reviewed on GoogleA wonderful place for a quiet relaxing stay yet close to a wide range of local features. Cabin was very comfortable and had all the facilities that we might have wanted.. Setting is superb. Acres of natural environment with kangaroos mowing the grass and a wonderful variety of birdlife.
