It’s not that we don’t trust our customers those rules are there for safety reasons as well as to keep traffic flowing especially for those that are in a hurry. Visited Derks Pet & Rural after a local recommendation. I was so pleasantly surprised, what a great local gem this is.

I was on the hunt for some items for my kitten and walked out with everything I needed without shipping or having to wait. Prices were really reasonable and comparable to some of the big pet chain stores.
Loved the range of their items for animals of all shapes and sizes. If I had a bird or guinea pig this would be the place for your pets needs!
I love the selection of scratching poles again at a reasonable price. If I find that my kitten likes this sort of thing I’ll be back for a pole for sure.
The staff didn’t say hello on arrival and I was the only one in the store at the time. They didn’t seem up for any conversation despite myself and other customers being involved in talking at the counter however they were not unpleasant and did seem very helpful to a lady who had her puppy in for some assistance.

As someone with 10 ferrets, a dog, a cat, and a duck, Derks Pet & Rural have been our one stop shop for pet food, kitty litter, general medicines (like flea treatments), and most other pet needs. Their prices are often cheaper than the supermarkets nearby, and they have a range of supplies that are amazing. If we ever move away from this area, It will be hard to find another all-round pet shop as good as this team.

Very poor customers service today i wanted to buy a bag of dog food and i was ignored when asked for help carrying it. Im not very strong my body is still getting over a miscarriage i had recently. The staff are more interested in talking to one another then actually serving people who walk in and need help. They used to greet their customers when you walk in now iv been laughed at when i walk in and ask for help. I have been told “i bought the product soI have to take it out myself”. We have been buying from you for 5 years and im am very disappointed in the way you treat your long term customers. We will never again buy from you we will go to pet barn. Today was the last time I will ever go there all i wanted was some help and i got ignored by 4 of your staff.
