Can’t fault Sugarloaf at all when they took on our dog after we were left feeling very deflated when previous vet didn’t recognise her deterioration, spending 3 nights in emergency hospital. Sugarloaf cared for our dog Jatz and followed up multiple tests, updating us and have been so supportive when we were incredibly anxious about our fur babies health.
We hope you all enjoyed the chocolate treats.

We always take our animals here, the staff are absolutely wonderful, so caring and lovely. The vets take great care, explaining everything you need to know, and taking the time to answer all your questions – you never feel like ‘just a number’. If you want your animals to be cared for, they go above and beyond to assist, and they care for animals many other vets don’t even bother with, like rabbits. The costs are not that expensive, and you come away with a happy, healthy pet – can’t argue with that!

    Can’t recommend this vet enough!!
The vets, nurses and staff are so welcoming and helpful.
I took my 1 year old cat in for a spay and I was very nervous for my baby but the vet was very informative with how the procedure would go, gave a health check and a wonderful nurse was so detailed and helpful with what too do for aftercare. i travelled 40 minutes for the appointment and would happily do so again.
beautiful caring staff and very compassionate towards your little fur babies x
Thankyou for taking great care of my little girl ❤️

We took our beautiful parrot to Sugar loaf vets because a couple of months ago because no other vet was available on the central coast, our beautiful boy was having difficulty breathing
After a initial consultation and x-rays the vet said he had abnormal growth in his tummy, total cost? $800 then she proceeded to say that she could operate him for $3000 plus any other costs that “could” arise but no guarantees that he would survive the surgery
We decided to take him home and get a second opinion, we asked the vet if she could prescribe anything for him so he could be more comfortable and she said he could take some pain medication no offers or suggestions unless we would go ahead with the surgery
Which we found out later it was just kids panadol she charged us another $60 for a tiny bottle of panadol bottle
NO COMPASSION WHATSOEVER, money hungry and if you don’t go ahead with their rip off options then take a hike
Would never suggest anyone going there unless you’re prepared to re mortgage your house to pay for your beloved pet vet costs

Dear Francis, Thank you for sharing your concerns. However, we feel unfairly portrayed by your response. First of all, let me assure you we never prescribe Panadol for birds. Cousin was given a prescription pain relief, which can only be given by a veterinarian. After performing X-rays, we found the cause of Cousin’s breathing difficulty was secondary to a large abdominal mass. The size of the mass was pushing out the liver and compressing the airsacs/lungs, which was causing the breathing problems. Our vet explained the findings and, sadly, the poor prognosis. Surgery was discussed as an option, which would be complex and high risk, as Cousin was already compromised with a serious underlying condition, meaning despite our best efforts, Cousin may not survive the procedure. Another option discussed was palliation, where pain relief was offered to assist with Cousin’s comfort. This was the option you chose. We try our utmost to provide various treatment plans and prognoses to choose from and ultimately, that decision is the client’s. If you read our reviews, you will see our staff is constantly praised for their compassion and dedication, so to accuse them of being mercenary is grossly unfair. If you would like to call the Practice to discuss further, I would be happy to talk to you. We can always do better, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your views. We understand that finding out your pet has an unexpected and serious condition is distressing, but the significance of the X-ray findings was thoughtfully discussed and we were very open and clear with the risks and, sadly, the guarded prognosis for Cousin.

This vet is hands down the worst vet.
They show no empathy towards their clients.
My 5 month old pup was vaccinated and suddenly died 4 days later. She was completely fine before she had the vaccination.
We emailed to let them know that our pup had unfortunately passed away to then having the staff read our message and not sending a message back.
We paid the $140 fee for the “vaccine for life” program and was told we weren’t going to be reimbursed any money even considering our pup had only had 4 vaccines.
Instead we were told “it can be transferred onto your next pet” which I was absolutely disgusted to hear considering w our beautiful girl.
The veterinarian nurses make up any excuses to get more money out of their clients.
My second pup was overdue for his vaccination due to personal circumstances and I was only told that he needed the one vaccine. I was then told for my third pup which I just lost that because she was overdue she would need to have two which makes no sense. If one dog only needs one vaccine, then why does the other dog need two?

They told me my dog had a broken spine, and I needed to pay anywhere from $4000-$6000 for him to have an x-ray. I went and took him elsewhere for a second opinion, and within days he was walking completely fine and back to his normal self.
The staff there are heartless and are only in it for the money.
