Review Summary
Here's a summary of the most recent reviews on The Pet CommunityPetSmart Woodstock seems to be a bit of a mixed bag according to the latest buzz from pet owners in the area. On the bright side, many customers are singing praises about the great service, extensive product range, and competitive prices they've encountered. The grooming department, particularly a staffer named Gracie, has received special mentions for their kindness and expertise, making pets like Kupo feel right at home. The store itself is consistently described as clean and well-stocked, making shopping trips pleasant for both pets and their humans. However, it's not all wagging tails; some customers have shared less-than-ideal experiences, particularly with grooming. Issues like unmet expectations for pet haircuts and a less welcoming attitude from certain staff members have been highlighted. Nonetheless, the management's efforts to address concerns, such as offering remedies for anxious pets, show a willingness to improve and maintain a positive community relationship. Whether you're after a new toy for your furry friend or need a trusted place for their next haircut, PetSmart Woodstock has its doors open, with most customers leaving with smiles (and wagging tails).

If you live near Woodstock, GA. and want your dog to have a grooming experience with someone that loves their job I HIGHLY recommend taking them to see Gracie. Everyone in the grooming department there was extremely kind and Gracie set the bar high for my expectations with a dog grooming service! Thanks for taking such great care of my dog, Kupo.

Disappointed with my miniature bernedoodle. Not what I had asked for at all. I found areas that were not cut at all. Will not return.

This review is for GROOMING Only:
We’ve patronized this location about 3-4x. Today was our last time. Each time, the attitude has been…off-putting to say the least. We tried to be optimistic. My visit before last (approx. 6 months or so ago), the male manager informed me that he just inherited that location and was trying to do some major work on the backend for the team. That’s the ONLY reason we returned THIS time 🙄 Never again.
I have a total of 3 dogs. Two small (Yorkie & Coton De Tulear) & one large (Labrador Retriever). Both of my tiny ones are fine, but my Labrador has really bad anxiety. We adopted her without warning of anxiety until I located her previous (only) owner who stated she was that way since a puppy. No biggie. She excessively pants during storms, or simply changing environments (I.e. coming to my home the first time & throwing up bile). She hadn’t had an extreme episode in three years. She had been groomed: shaved, nails clipped, anal glands expressed, teeth brushed, and dolled up a number of times since WITHOUT Incident.
For some reason, the last two times coming to this SPECIFIC location — she has had severe anxiety attacks.
The first time it happened (approx. 6 months ago) and was evidently bad…I got a call to pick her up because she had diarrhea all over herself in the kennel. When I recieved the call, I inquired if she had been shaved (since I had dropped her off approx. 3 hrs before) – they said “No”. I stated I would get there as soon as possible since I was currently in the car rider lane waiting to pick up my child from school. I got major attitude over the phone telling me I needed to come immediately. Anywho, I get there and she has dried poop on her still. I ask the groomers for a wet wipe or something to clean her off. Their response was, “Per policy, we cannot touch the animal because they can go into cardiac arrest.” 😒😒 So I reiterated to them again that I simply needed something to clean her “MYSELF” off with. Again, they stated “Per policy, …” And proceeded to attempt to justify why they couldn’t give me ANYTHING 🤨 So I had to kindly inform them that regardless of their “policy”, she will NOT be getting in my car like that 🥱🤷🏾♀️ And they can board her until whenever until her legs/paws are wiped off. 🫠 Needless to say, I got those wipes.
Fast forward, the male manager came out to me during check out (for my other two) and apologized. He was GREAT!!! I explained to him her previous stints of anxiety & how nothing like that had ever occurred before, so it was very new to me. He recommended CBD treats to calm her nerves going forward, he waived the nail trim, added a free bath & groom to my account, and was kind. Overall, he was the epitome of rectifying a situation in customer service. [That’s what made us come back this LAST time 🙄😒 Never tf again!!!]
He and I had an indepth conversation about the groomers’ judgemental & snide attitude and inaction to assist, where he explained his position in newly acquiring that location. He suggested specifically for THAT pup [Labrador] to have her future appointments set to be the VERY LAST appointment scheduled for the day so she can be in & out. He stated that “typically there is a fee associated with it – but because [we] don’t know exactly what was the cause and it was a one time occurance…[he] will put a note on account to document for her to be “express” without charge so she doesn’t spend any time in the kennel.”
Needless to say, NONE OF THAT WAS DOCUMENTED 😅🤷🏾♀️ And told basically my Labrador was ‘BLACKLISTED’ due to her anxiety/pooping. Groomer kept cutting me off midsentence, telling me 3x within the same conversation about a fee for “express service”, totally disregarding what should have been documented. She didn’t even attempt to inquire WITH her manager.
Helpful ReviewToo much ‘WRONG’ was said, attitude too much, and from the looks of other reviews I’m glad to know I am not the only one treated this way. They need some major TRAINING! Aside from my mistreatment, I’m sure my Kira felt the vibes ✌🏾

Dr. Bell is great. We were there today and her assistant Ivory was exceptional.
Helpful ReviewOur dog is very timid breed and was mishandled in the past in Va. and Ga.
He is fine when he isn’t mishandled, but aggressiveness makes him frightened as a person would react. He starts shaking and howls. Today was a good experience for our dog. Those two know their job well. Thank you both.

PetSmart has an extensive inventory of products, but the markup is beyond the pale. And I find few foods suitable for my dog, who has IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) and can’t tolerate grains, among other things. My dog finds it to be olfactory adventure, but aside from an occasional grain-free snack, I’m unlikely to ever spend the extra money for overpriced products.

Try to return an item that i bought online and picked-in store 3 days ago. I had my receipt but because I used after pay as my payment I was turned away. The manager said you can only have store credit bc they can’t prove what card I used when I had the card in my hand. The last 4 of the card number was on the receipt. The manager was nasty and made me feel as if I had stolen the items. Lost my business.

Lazy employee told me to go ask someone else, she didn’t know how to unlock the case. Why even go to a store anymore? It’s cheaper online than in the store anyways.

Their systems were down and manager or supervisor on duty was checked me out and manually took my card info. She was apologetic for their systems being down and was very nice.

Not too pricey, there wasn’t a lot of people to answer questions. The cashier was nice. They are not the most expensive supply for sure, but the customer service could be better, like having more people working the floor, as opposed to none maybe. They do have good deals, and when it’s staffed, it’s much better.
