The best most welcoming vet. Everytime I have taken my kitty to this vet they feel like family. They all show such a genuine care for all animals and patients. Every visit has been rewarding for my kitty and I always have peace of mind knowing she is in the hands of such kind professionals. I now live in the city and still make the trip down to this vet! A big thank you! Boodhi and Tara xx

I take my guinea-pigs here for less complex piggie vet needs. Dr David (sorry don’t know last name) is compassionate and caring, and has lot’s of experience with piggies. It is quick to get in (you can wait a long time for exotic vet) and half the cost.

We have just had to send our beautiful cat over the rainbow bridge and the Doctor and staff could not have been any more caring. I did not go to the vets very often but I always went to Cheltenham Vets, wouldn’t go anywhere else. You will never find nicer or more caring people.

We have been with Cheltenham Vet Clinic for over 13 years now. I have always understood that there are Vet clinics that treat their practice as a business and then there are those that have a genuine love for the animals in their care. Cheltenham Vet is most definitely the later, with a team of amazing staff who treat my dogs with love and respect. Our primary vet, David S has given two of our now sadly departed bulldogs the absolute best care they could possibly have had throughout their lives. There has never been a push for unnecessary procedures, tests or surgeries and any that did need to be performed (especially with Barney’s complicated health history) were referred on to an in-house bulldog vet or a specialist surgical practice if David felt that this would be safer for a brachy breed. The brief time we did stray to a specialist bulldog vet practice on misguided advice and the belief that a “Bulldog” clinic may be better, there was a world of difference in the personalised approach to animal care and level of compassion we received. Although in no way “bad”, it did feel like a bit of an animal production line situation where the vet never recognised me nor my pet. We soon returned to Cheltenham where I trust implicitly that David and team always have my dogs best interests at heart. Thank you so much for taking care of Oscar yesterday morning and letting him cross the rainbow bridge with dignity, patience and compassion even though we did not have an appointment. He was comfortable and loved by everyone in the room until his very last breath. Thank you also for the beautiful flowers and card received this afternoon, they were very much appreciated. We will continue to bring Monty and any other future pets to Cheltenham as we know the level of care will be the best in Melbourne.

The team at Cheltenham Vet Clinic were so kind and helpful when my 17 year old cat got sick and ultimately needed to be put down. I appreciate the knowledge and care from Dr Cindy in giving me all the information I needed and for the rest of the team that were so friendly at all times.

I highly recommend the team and will bring any future pets I have here.

I followed Dr David Wilson from another vet clinic to Cheltenham Vet Clinic when he and Dr David Stasiuk started their own practice at this clinic many years ago. I have been a visitor often weekly, sometimes daily, and at least once a month for so many years with all my pets. And the care both Davids provide to my pets is exceptional.

Dr Wilson has known some of my oldest pets including those who have now passed on as long as I’ve had them. He’s been there when I rescued them and when they’ve gone to sleep. Dr Wilson cares for my pets as though they are his own. And words in a review like this, on his Christmas and other thank you cards will never be enough to express how much I respect him and appreciate him for caring for my 16 yo Emmy pup or 24 yo Bessie cat with all his heart. And Tully, Gretel, Patrick, Poppy, Finnegan and Bridget. He is steadfast, thorough, gentle, smart, kind, warm and most of all, has such integrity.

Dr Stasiuk has also been there in some of the hardest moments of my pets’ lives. Treating my very old Emmy dog with vestibular, he was encouraging and confident it would pass. And it did. Being there with Emmy at the end he was so gentle,, kind and respectful. He also helped save one of my dog’s Iives by sending me straight to the emergency vets for critical care after a quick check of Poppy’s gums one morning before opening time after she had been sick. Such quick thinking, a reflection of his years of experience, helped to save Poppy’s life.

Both Dr Wilson and Dr Stasiuk are helping treat my now 13 yo Poppy pup. They’ve dealt with other specialists including Poppy’s cardiologist and vet acupuncturist to help Poppy be as healthy and comfortable as possible in her senior years. They are truly an exceptional partnership.

And the entire team of vet nurses and reception are second to none. They love my dogs and my cats as their own and are warm, funny, kind and so caring including towards me. Laurene, Lara, Becca, Chrissy and Maria have been such constants in all our lives and we consider them friends. We all adore them. And are so thankful for each of them.

I honestly can’t say enough about Dr Wilson, Dr Stasiuk, Laurene and all the vet nurses. Thank you for all you do for my tribe of darlings. And me.

I would give 1000 stars if I could. They were amazing with our late dog, Ola who passed away in April last year. They treated him so well and even made sure we were ok after he passed. No words can describe how kind the vet and the vet nurses were to us, it meant the world. Our boy was very spoilt with treats whenever he went to the vets! We had been visiting this clinic for at least 8 years from memory. We hope to get a dog someday and we will definitely be back

What a great experience! Today I took my 8 week old kitten in for her overall health check and first immunisation and all I can say is that I will not consider going anywhere else!

Whilst on the phone actually making the appointment earlier during the week, I had a great conversation with the receptionist, Laurene. Laurene was very helpful and answered my questions without hassle.

Laurene, a second receptionist and the vet, Billy (I believe), greeted us with smiles the second we walked in. Billy treated Jessie so well and I think she really liked her experience just as much as we did!

A would like to send a very big thank you to all at Cheltenham Vet Clinic. Yesterday I had to take our beautiful 13 year old Jack Russell named Ziggy to the vet to put him out of his misery as he has been suffering from dementia for some time and I had to face the fact that his quality of life was fading. The care and understanding shown to me from all the staff was exceptional. I was an absolute mess and the compassion shown to me was wonderful and I am sincerely grateful. The flowers and card sent to my home on the same day was beautiful. Once again thank you, regards Carmel Wigg

I have been taking my 5yo pooch to this clinic since he was a pup. I contacted them recently around 4pm, desperately seeking an emergency appointment, as my dog was suffering from a suspected case of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE can be fatal if not treated). Due to Covid-19 restrictions, contacting the clinic first seemed the right thing to do, as opposed to just showing up. I was desperate, knowing from a past experience, his health would continue to decline, if not given the necessary medication. I was told by reception, they were fully booked & maybe I should contact another vet or go to an emergency hospital.
I was shocked & disappointed with the response I received & the lack of concern Chelt Vet showed for my unwell pet. I was pleading for some assistance & in return I was given a “too bad” attitude. Always thought some of the staff at the clinic appeared a touch fake & this experience has exposed it to the full. Surely 5 years attending the clinic guarantees you an emergency appt. or at least some empathy!
On the positive side, found another local vet who treated my dog & they were outstanding!!! They too had been fully booked out, but realised the seriousness of the situation & told me to bring him in straight away.
Safe to say, won’t be going back to Cheltenham Veterinary Clinic!

The team is without a doubt some of the nicest out there! The genuine care they show for your pets is unparalleled. I have tried others in the area (including supposed experts on my breed) and would never go anywhere except for Cheltenham Vet.

I literally cannot praise this team enough – for kindness, compassion, expertise and transparency. They literally saved our dog’s leg (and probably her life) when we switched to them after a cold experience with a previous vet, and when our other dog unfortunately had terminal osteosarcoma they were so compassionate and accommodating. Just above and beyond at every step. I’ll be forever grateful for the love and care they gave to our pets and to us as owners.

We’ve been going to this clinic for over a year now and today we had the worst experience ever. My dog has been coughing for two days now and is not getting better so I took her to the clinic. I was told she needs to take Doxycycline 100mg, which costs $103.40 for 28 tablets if we buy it from the clinic!!!!! So I told them that’s too much and I asked for a prescription to go buy it much cheaper from a Chemist. The vet said we charge $30 to write a prescription, when I said it’s too much for something that is actually a given when a dog is sick you get a prescription to buy her medication. They told me you either pay the $30 to get the prescription, or you can take your dog home and let her recover on her own!!!
I told them no I need to get her the antibiotics because she’s been sick for 2 days now…
I realized that this clinic is only after money, not after helping animals get better, which is why I will never take my dog there again!!
You either buy the medication from them at a ridiculously high price or you have to pay $30 to be able to buy it elsewhere.
Not to mention the front desk representative ‘Crissi’ when I told her I wont set foot in this clinic again, she said “FANTASTIC” and laughed.
Doxycycline from any Chemist is only $13 for 28 tablets and in my dog’s case, she can take the human and not necessarily the animals one and she’s taken it before and recovered perfectly 3 months ago!!

Also, I had told them on the phone when I booked the appointment that my dog is coughing and probably has kennel cough because she had the same symptoms 3 months ago and they told us it’s contagious, when we arrived and the nurse was taking my dog in because we’re not allowed inside, she asked me if my dog is good with other dogs!!!!! I told her yes she is but you’re not supposed to let her come near other dogs, what she has is probably contagious because she’s coughing!!
I honestly wouldn’t trust handing them my dog if they don’t even know what the dogs are in for and just let them around each other putting them at risk of contracting other deseases.

5 Stars all round. After over 6 months of severe problems with my dogs re occurinng ear infection, i was referred to Dr Dan for his specialist opinion. After only ONE consultation my dog had a diagnosis and treatment plan in place. I saw multiple vets at various clinics over these last 6 months who frustratingly, could not give me a definitive diagnosis.
One hour spent with Dan and all was clear what was wrong. Dan was professional, compassionate and showed a genuine caring nature towards my dog and was very good at explaining to me in simple terms what was wrong so that i could understand. Within the week he permormed the necessary surgery required and as part of his service remained on call 24/7 for me in his recovery. This was extremely comforting given that i was so worried.
Dan was continuous in follow up calls and text messages to check in on the progress inbetween his post op appointments. His service was incredibly thorough and professional and I have never experienced a vet to be so accomodating. I only wish i saw him sooner. Thankfully my dog has now completed his treatment and fully healed.
Thank you so much Dan. 10/10
