My partner purchased a pack for this training for our 1 year old pup after reading so many great reviews. We attended 3 sessions and gained absolutely nothing – it was basically standing around doing nothing the entire time with our dogs sitting at our feet.
There were two disobedient dogs in the group which the trainer could not control and the majority of the sessions was focused on them.
They would not refund our money and we have found the customer service appalling.

So having to cross the road from other dogs was not pleasant & a pulling dog so we bit the bullet & had a 1 on 1 with Lorraine then decided to go to the training & it was the best decision we have done. Great friendly staff with all the challenges of social interaction our Zoe has been a pleasure to walk now with her Mum & brother side by side. We wouldn’t hesitate to do it again at Sankiri it’s been awesome with no more panicking & more tools we have learned about how to help our dogs . seen so many different breeds & how they react at the start to how they have matured at the end

I can’t speak highly enough of Lorraine and the team at Sankiri. My boy, Dusty (Labrador 13 months) has been working with the team at Sankiri since February this year. Lorraine’s approach to training is amazing, you do not use food to bride your dog. The method teaches your dog to actually listen to you regardless of whether you have treats in your pocket. Like any training, you get back what you are prepared to put into it, and Lorraine and her team will give back 10 fold again. I can now take Dusty to work with me, in a busy and dangerous furniture manufacturing factory. Around forklifts, trucks, saws, and CNC machines and feel comfortable that he is safe and under effective control. We both look forward to going to training each weekend and are very grateful to Lorraine and her team for all that she has done for us. Highly, highly recommend …

We take our 2 pups here and couldn’t be happier. As first time dog owners we knew we would need help and guidance to ensure our dogs have a happy life with us and we have found that and more with the whole Sankiri team! Extremely knowledgeable and helpful- the social aspects not just for the doggies but for ourselves aswell is so much fun! Our dogs have a blast and learn so much and so do we! Thankyou so much to the entire team!!!

There was no option for a trial and so we signed up and prepaid 25 lessons feeling hopeful due to the reviews. Our first 2 sessions we attended were vague and largely just standing around with your dog. No real guidance or planned activity. We had issues with our pup and separation anxiety so we called the head trainer – her advise was to dom our puppy and that she had hit her own dog with a heavy pot to stop it attacking her other dogs. We then realised the school was definitely not for us and asked that we no longer attend and get refunded. There was no reply to our request or calls for 2 weeks. Finally the admin called and said the delay was because the head trainers dog was put down eluding it was due to it doing something traumatic and violent. This made us terrified to bring our gentle and shy dog to attend the training further. We then received a letter saying they refuse to refund us. I very much recommend you do not attend this school. We have lost a grand and a half to be alarmed and rorted.

We came to Lorraine and her team with our big boy Rocky who has reactivity issues with other dogs and people. Throughout the past few months especially I struggled with his behaviour as he would get fixated on other dogs and try to lunge at them mostly because he didn’t know any other way how to behave and I was lost in how to handle him. It was also harder to concentrate during the group training classes as I would be so anxious with Rocky being around other dogs which made him even more anxious and I would lose opportunities to help Rocky progress with his training.
Helpful ReviewAfter expressing my concerns with Lorraine and her team, they have been so supportive in teaching me how to be a better leader and handler for Rocky and are helping me gain the confidence I need which travels down the lead to give Rocky more confidence too. The training focuses on how to properly give corrections but gives a big emphasis on providing praise and positive reinforcement to develop better trust for Rocky with me. Whilst Rocky and I are still a work in progress, the progress we have made the past few months is something I am grateful to Lorraine’s team for as Rocky is now much calmer during group training sessions and around other dogs, allowing us to focus more on his training and developing our bond and trust with each other.

My very stubborn and intelligent dog had my friends with dog knowledge stumped. She knew what I wanted but chose to not do it!
So I started training with Lorraine.
I now have people complimenting Daisy’s behaviour, how well she listens, and how she obeys even off lead.
Next year we are travelling Australia together and I am confident that she is ready to face whatever comes our way!

We are so grateful for the teaching we’ve received from Lorraine, Travis and the wonderful team at Sankiri! Our dog was poorly socialised, often fearful and reactive to dogs and people and we were often in tears over his behaviour. Despite his behaviour being largely our own fault as new and ignorant dog owners, Lorraine and her team maintained a non-judgmental attitude and have taught us so much about understanding dog behaviour and training.
Since undergoing training with Sankiri, our pup has been able to socialise with Lorraine’s beautiful border collies and I’ve noticed a change in his behaviour to a calmer, more confident and trusting dog which has led to improvement in our relationship as well. I was astonished to see him greet and socialise with other dogs in class which is beyond what I could have imagined us achieving in such a short period of time!
I’m confident that we’ll continue to progress and improve under the guidance of Lorraine and Travis and can’t recommend them enough!!

So impressed with the training and everything Sankiri Dog Training provides. They offer training knowledge that gives you the ability and confidence to set you and your family up for success. We HAD a reactive, anxious GSD that would pull on walks, bark and jump at people, no recall when distracted, etc etc. With hard work and weekly training sessions there’s been such a brilliant improvement and so thankful we found Lorraine and her terrific team!

Based on the response time and customer service I’m going to rate 5 stars. Unfortunately we won’t be going ahead with puppy school as we’re only in the area until October and have to pay for all lessons upfront (understandable). By the time pup arrives and is old enough to attend classes we’ll be forfeiting approximately 9+ lessons, that’s if there is no other cancellations for weather and what not. So we just can’t justify throwing that money away. However, if we were going to be here longer we certainly would be attending puppy school.

Helpful ReviewI originally came to you in hope that I could go into the vets & specialist without being snuck through the back door because of Oscars aggressive reactivity with seeing another dog. Never in my wildest dreams could I foresee I could call over your beautiful border collie boy (with Oscar on a loose lead) and have a calm experience.
Not only have you taught me to be a better handler but your boy has taught Oscar how to be a different, confident dog. Oscar has never sniffed another dog ever until your boy taught him how too and then Oscar allowed your boy to sniff him

Lorraine was highly recommended to us by a friend for our adopted, very timid, big boy Buddy. As first time dog owners, Lorraine gave us the confidence and skills to help Buddy settle into suburban life. Within the first few weeks of working with Lorraine we saw a marked improvement in Buddy’s confidence and our ability to manage his anxiety. Lorraine’s amazing assistant Trevis, has also been remarkably patient and supportive of Buddy’s needs. We cannot thank these two enough for the incredible relationship my husband and I now have with Buddy. It has been pure magic to see not only our pet but several other dogs at the group training sessions develop confidence and obedience. Sankiri Dog Training is highly highly recommended for all dog lovers.

I cannot recommend Lorraine and Sankiri Dog training highly enough! I adopted a very large German Shepherd who was pulled on the lead; had no recall and was an escape artist! Since training with Lorraine I am able to walk him calmly even past other dogs! He loves coming to classes and we can’t wait for lockdown to end so we can come back!

I am very happy with the training my dog Buddy has got from Lorraine. Buddy has come a long way, he is obedient, will come back on command when let free. Lorraine is very approchable and will listen to your concerns. We enjoy training with Lorraine and Buddy always comes out happy.

I write this review in response to a recent post by Shae Griffiths who publicly comments on the “brutal training methods” conducted by Lorraine at Sankiri Dog Training. I was astounded to read of these false and misleading accusations aimed at a reputable, highly respected and experienced dog trainer of over 20 years who has helped, adapted and in some cases, rescued dogs who may have otherwise been discarded to a place of no return. My wife and I have been to numerous other dog trainers over the past 2 years who in my opinion use methods which are commonly frowned upon – prong/pinch collars, e-collars (shock collars), and so on. By comparison, we do not have any issues with Lorraine’s methods, and furthermore, our canine companions have never been happier and more settled in their behavior particularly around other dogs. Both of our dogs were previously administered Fluoxetine (Lovan) for their anxiety issues around other dogs, and since they begun their training with Lorraine three months ago, have now stopped taking medication completely. Finally, when I read Shae’s comment “every time I’ve walked past the dogs have looked despondent and sad” it begs the question of whether Shae should now be considered an animal behavior expert or dog whisperer. Don’t think I have come across a sad looking dog in their owners company…..just saying.

Sankiri had a good experience initially, a good admin/callback service, and good offerings. Timing worked out well and all was good. The issues began when our 1:1 session started and the first thing I was asked to do was to irritate my dog and get her aggressive (she wouldn’t, she knows better!). That was a warning sign, what followed was a session of dated, brutal training methods, pulling my dog by its neck until it choked, alpha rolls and other methods that have no scientific backing and result in a bad experience for both you and your dog.
Helpful Review 4I’m all for dog training, and my dog is about to get some more, but do yourself a favour, walk past one of her classes and see if the dogs look like they’re learning and having fun. Every time I’ve walked past the dogs have looked despondent and sad. Maybe learning, but learning to be afraid of you, not to want to please.
Also, when training, think about how what you’re doing feels. If you wouldn’t do it to a 3 year old kid, maybe don’t do it to your dog.
We were disgusted with the methods used, and have shared our story with our vet, who was absolutely horrified. I’m off to go use a trainer who uses positive reinforcement techniques (there are plenty around)

What Can I say – Lorraine is absolutely amazing and to the point. She went above and beyond to train our chow chow puppy. Due to Covid-19 we could not enroll our newly puppy to Puppy school. At 11 weeks, my puppy started nipping and just usual annoying puppy behavior. So, we wanted to control the behavior from an earlier age. There it was, miracle happened, we found Sankiri. Lorraine provided the training at our house with lots of positive reinforcement and effort . Our puppy has now learned to stop the nipping/biting and the unwanted puppy behavior. He is a lot more calmer and he actually listens to us.
Once again – thank you so much Lorraine. I cannot recommend more on how amazing Lorraine is.
