The guy that runs this shop is a true expert on fish which is rare to find these days in pet shops. I showed him a photo of my tank and explained my set-up and he expertly showed me the best solution to fill my tank with life. Cost me a lot less than I expected too. Truly happy with the experience and end result. 5 star will go nowhere else now.

I have personally been buying supplies and fish from Avid for many years now
The shop is a smaller size than many of the larger commercial Aquarium shops but they give them a good run for their money
It is a family business and with this comes the highest level customer service, and everyone who works there seem to have a love of keeping Aquariums and I always find the advice is more about having a healthy Aquarium than sales
I know from personal experience if in having an issue with my Aquarium that I can pop in with a water sample and always get good advice and normally with in a week the issue is resolved
The range of fish is always fantastic, with both fresh and salt water fish, and somehow they always have a supply of more difficult to source fish
Prices are always competitive, but even if they were the same as a large commercial Shop I would always choose these guys
Given the number of fish I have sourced through Avid we have never had any issues, and when I decide to change what we have in the Aquarium I know where I will get good ideas

I live close to the city so this place is far to get to on public transport toting little ones but worth it for their amazing prices. It’s a small store so if you’re a parent coming with tiny ones, you might want to leave the pram outside or near the front door. I love their efficiency, friendly advice and constant Facebook posts. Clearly passionate about fish. I’ve got a few fish from here and they’re always incredibly healthy. I tend to buy my fish food online but they have great prices on Hikari fish food that I ended up stocking up even though I have stacks at home. They also have unbelievably cheap plants that have just grown so much in just a week! Love this place and will definitely come back!
