Reviewed on GoogleWe were looking to choose a cat but we feel Milo chose us from the minute we met him. (Renamed Milo from Jersey)
Helpful ReviewWe were expecting milo to have a shy first week hiding away & what not.. but no.
as soon as he confidently strolled out of his carrier he knew he was home and started excitedly exploring all his new stuff & giving us the sweetest cuddles which blew us away! on his first night he did steal one of dads nuggets but he is a very polite boy now whilst we are eating 😂
We were so shocked he had been in the shelter for over a year without anyone scooping up this perfect little guy! but so grateful we were the ones to.
he has been doing tremendously
with his anxiety since weening off his medication, strangers scare him but he is one happy cat. we couldn’t be happier, he changed our lives for the better. 6 months in & forever to go
thank you RSPCA ❤️

Reviewed on GoogleI want a refund my cat is faulty! All jokes aside this cat is the most beautiful animal in the world. When we adopted him his name was blue steel and the staff were super helpful, helping us with food changes, litter training and how to properly care for such a sweet animal. We got him just over a year ago and for his first birthday my daughter made him a kitty cake and he devoured it in minutes, he unwrapped loads of presents to, we still keep in touch with the centre and they love hearing about al his updates, He is now infatuated with my daughter they are like two peas in a pod.

Reviewed on GoogleI have been watching the RSPCA page for 4 weeks when I saw this kitten that was not ready for adoption. I tried to ring 9 times across four days but heard nothing back. I sent two people in to ask about the kitten as I work full time. They told them that they were not sure when she would be ready. That was fine.
The next week I drove 45 mins to the shop to leave my number or talk about a potential fit, however the shop was closed on the Saturday due to being under staffed. I was annoyed but I understood.
After finally seeing that she was ready on the page, I raced up to Malaga during my work break (which I had to take early and make up for it and spend money on an Uber). After meeting the kitten I could not take her because I had to go back to work. I put her on hold for 24 hours.
As my lunch break is 12:00, I had someone ready to drive up there to make it there at 12:30 to get the cat as she was on hold for 24 hrs.
However, I received a phone call at 11am that I could not answer as I have to work. RSPCA called me to tell me that my 24 hrs are up. I tried to call them back 5 times in a row. At this point I was panicking because I was told 12:30. I left a voicemail that I could not pick up the cat now as I am at work. I tried to call them another three times as I had someone who just arrived at Malaga, however they answered and they told me the cat had already been adopted.
I cannot describe how absolutely gutted I am and really upset since I have watched this page for 4 weeks checking it multiple times a day to get this kitten. Heartbreaking

Reviewed on GoogleThe RSPCA operating as the City of Joondalup dog pound takes the shine off the wonderful job the RSPCA does.
Helpful ReviewMy dog escaped during a storm last week and has been impounded by the RSPCA and will not be released to my family until the City of Joondalup inspects my property which they are in no rush to do!
Meanwhile we are told that he RSPCA can only keep my dog for 7 days?? Then what???
I get the story that the RSPCA is “busy finding new Holmes” for rescued pets but our family pet is about to be euthanised by the RSPCA due to City of Joondalup bungling!!
Doing the CoJ’s dirty work – shame on you RSPCA!

Reviewed on GoogleI usually love the RSPCA, however I wasn’t impressed with them a week or so ago.
Helpful ReviewI was looking for another furry friend or two and rang them.
I had to leave a message as they were busy( which I understand), but I’m still waiting for a return call.
It doesn’t matter now as I went elsewhere and found two gorgeous girls, but I was a bit disappointed that no one returned my call.

Helpful ReviewCouncil who advised to contact RSPCA well I have just received a phone call from their head office In Brisbane before I could discuss anything the women just ranted at me was rude, aggressive and obnoxious she just said her piece and terminated the call. I have phoned RSPCA again asking to speak to someone in authority still have not received a return phone call and doubt I will. Absolutely shameful and disrespectful of an organisation that gives a consistent message that please phone them if you think an animal needs their help well !
I tried that and I feel like why did I bother !! I’m horrified that this is the level of assistance they provide and as for their call centre staff I believe they need retraining at least and if they are untrainable maybe it’s not the job for them. So RSPCA I’m hoping someone does the right thing and contacts me to discuss this further.

Hi Mark,
We are sorry to hear about your experience with the call centre. Could you please email us your contact details so we can reach out and get more information from you. You can drop us a line at rspca@rspcawa.org.au
In regard to the dog, RSPCA inspectors in WA are only permitted to act under WA’s Animal Welfare Act 2002. We respond to suspected offences under the Act, where an animal’s welfare is compromised, as defined in the Act. Nuisance dogs, strays and lost pets are the responsibility of local governments in Western Australia, and their local rangers are equipped to handle these inquiries.
You can complete an online report which will be assessed and forwarded to the Inspectorate to follow-up. You can find more information about cruelty reports here: https://www.rspcawa.org.au/Pages/FAQs/Category/cruelty-report-faqs
Thanks Mark.

Hi David,
Thank you for your comment – we’re sorry that you didn’t have a successful adoption story. At the time of adoption you did sign an agreement which states that no refunds are given. You also signed a disclaimer for separation anxiety. The dog was also described as sensitive and shy at first, and it can take several months for dogs like her to settle into the home. We do understand that this doesn’t always work out, but we haven’t seen the serious behaviour you were concerned about (i.e. resource guarding toys or barking/growling) in the shelter.
We are happy to offer a credit for you and will place this note on your file should you wish to contact the shelter. We are also always happy to assist with the transition of a new pet into a home, and you are welcome to call the shelter to discuss any issues with our Behaviour team.
