Helpful ReviewMy little Alaska is a rescue dog with a few stubborn traits, but Sarah saw his potential from the very beginning. Through her patience, expertise, and positive training methods, she has taught both Alaska and me how to communicate and respond in ways that build trust and confidence.
Every training session is enjoyable, encouraging, and fun, and we see noticeable improvements in Alaska each time we meet. Between sessions, I continue working with him using the techniques Sarah has taught us, and the progress just keeps growing.

I found Sarah’s style of working with dogs fitted with my own philosophy in that she does not employ power over tactics in her training as many male trainers do. Instead she looks at the individuality of the dog and promotes working with their strengths and personality. After participating in the 7 day recall program Daisy is showing very positive behaviour which has been noticed by others as well as me. As well as creating a very positive outcome,Daisy thoroughly enjoyed the week and made me appreciate how much she loves learning new things.

Working with Sarah, has not only improved my shown me how to train my dog but, how to get a fun experiance out of the training sessions we do, wither it be with Sarah or at home. Sarah is very easy going, and easy to work with.

Today my 5-month-old puppy bolted straight towards a busy road. In pure panic, I screamed our recall sound… and just before he hit the road, he stopped dead, spun around, and came straight back to me.
It’s been working beautifully at home and at the dog park, but I’ll be honest — I never expected it to save us in a real, high-stress moment like that. While I absolutely don’t recommend testing it this way, it was terrifying and incredibly reassuring all at once to know that the training worked when it truly mattered.
If we hadn’t done the recall work, today could have ended very differently.
Thank you so much, Sarah, I’m beyond grateful.

Sarah Rutten is one of those rare people who seems to get both people and dogs! We called her in when a rescue dog we had taken in was completely shut down and would do nothing other than hide. Sarah put us in touch with a brilliant holistic vet and between the two of them, we had some immediate progress – albeit slow.
Helpful ReviewSarah seemed to sense when we were losing heart and confidence, and became our biggest cheer squad. She appeared to understand our dog from the get-go and knew exactly what was needed.
It is a long journey we are on, but one we would have stepped off long ago, were it not for Sarah and her incredible knowledge, support, encouragement and her belief in both us and our beloved pooch. We cannot thank you enough Sarah.

I recently took part in Sarah’s recall challenge, and it was an absolute game-changer! Her force-free training methods were easy to understand, positive, and fun to follow. Even my dog—who’s usually distracted by everything, especially the chickens—started coming when called, no matter what was going on around her!
Sarah explained each step clearly and gave practical tips that were simple to implement in everyday life. The results came quickly, and the process was enjoyable for both me and my dog. I’m so impressed with how successful this training has been and highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for effective, kind, and confidence-building training.

We worked with Sarah with our two dogs who were anxious and reactive. Sarah has such a natural affinity working with the dogs, she is so knowledgeable and really broke down the methods we were using – because in reality it is us that needs the training! We used to have to bypass other dogs on our walks and beach trips had become a nightmare but with Sarah’s support and guidance we’ve made huge inroads and our dogs are confident and comfortable seeing and meeting other dogs.
We also took her 7-day recall challenge and wow – I was blown away by how far we came with our dogs in only seven days. Sarah broke down each important step of the recall and they were so easy to implement. The support online was fabulous and we really made deeper connections with out dogs. I would 100% recommend this challenge!

Sarah’s perspective really helps you understand why your dog is reactive. She’s been incredible working with my Cattle Dog and me through 1-on-1 sessions, helping me better understand my dog’s thresholds and anxiety.
I also purchased her cleverly written, top-selling book The Canine Perspective to keep learning from Sarah’s insights such a valuable resource!
Recently, I joined the 7-Day Recall Challenge online. Not only did the challenge work, but it was also a lot of fun for both of us, Hide and Go Seek was a definite hit! Plus side, the training platform worked around my busy schedule.
If you’re looking for a force-free, rewarding approach to truly understand and connect with your dog, I can’t recommend The Canine Perspective enough.

🐾 Five Paws Up for Sarah! 🐾
If I could type this myself with my little pug paws, I’d be giving Sarah all the treats and tail wags in the world! From the moment she came into my life (and my human’s), she went above and beyond to help us both. Sarah didn’t just “help” — she understood me. She knew what made my tail wag, what made me anxious, and how to bring out my happy, snorty, pug self again.
She was patient, kind, and full of love — the kind of person who truly gets dogs. My human says she’s never met anyone who cares so much or gives so much time and energy to make sure we’re both comfortable, calm, and thriving. Whether it was advice, follow-ups, or extra encouragement, Sarah was there every step of the way.
Because of her, I’m feeling better, behaving better (mostly 😜), and my human is so much more confident too. Sarah, you’re not just amazing at what you do — you’ve changed our lives for the better.

I found Sarah’s classes very rewarding!
I gained confidence in my training and my puppy experienced great success.
Sarah is an extremely attentive trainer and spends time making sure you understand the logic behind the training method.
