I have purchased quite a few rats from here, the first rat I had from here was a wonderful rat, the next two rats got were in with boys and girls and were both pregnant with litters. The staff also came off as rude and uninterested when I talked to them. They handled the rats with a roughness and aggressiveness by the tail (which is unhealthy for a rat by the way) and chucked them into the box I was supposed to take them home in. Other then that though, the items and food are really good quality, but still a one star because I am more concerned about the animals then the items.

I’ve bought from fish and feathers a couple of times and the in store experience wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either. Staff seem disinterested and come off as a bit rude.
I purchased two rats and both of which had upper respiratory infections which I later realised. It was also quite unsettling to see how the staff handled the animals. Very rough and clearly stressed the animals out.
I also know someone who has purchased fish from fish n feathers with worms, unknowingly at the time.
Living conditions of the animals are not great. Crowded, unclean small enclosures and cages that do not accomodate the animals basic needs. The animals are obviously not receiving adequate care.
Staff need to be better informed about the animals and how to take care of them. However, if you are seeking to buy an animal from any pet shop it is also your responsibility.
But it is fish n feathers responsibility to sell you an animal that is healthy, well looked after and has been kept in acceptable conditions.
I don’t like to say this about a small pet shop but fish n feathers you need to do better.

At first I was happy with my purchase of a blue tongue lizard. She was an incredible addition to my family. We instantly fell in love with her. But quickly after purchasing her, we realised that she had mites. And since we don’t have reptiles already, the only way she would have gotten them if by at Fish n’ Feathers when I brought her.
I treated her for the mites and everything seemed to be fine again. At least I thought.
It appeared that I also brought her with a respiratory issue as well as other unidentifiable issues. 4 weeks after, and after nearly spending $1000 in vet bills, she passed away.
Fish n’ Feathers, I blame you! Not only is the reptile cages kept at too low of a temperature (25°, not 30°-35°) but all your blue tongues also aren’t stored correctly. There was far too many lizards in the one tank (nearly 15 in a tiny tank!). How are you meant to monitor them all like that? How are you ensuring that each of them is getting enough food? You should be ashamed of yourselves!
Perhaps find a better breeder to buy off and actually care for those reptiles you get.

I’ve been to this pet shop twice and got the wrong information twice. I bought a tank and two fish that they said would be fine in that tank but it was definitely way too small when I put them in, I went there today and asked about how much gravel I would need for a bigger tank I just bought and received the wrong information again. Very disappointed and annoyed.
