This was the second time my dog had a day here. She’s a quiet and shy dog and Karen was great. Answering my questions and making sure Bunny wasn’t with boisterous pooches. I highly recommend and will be back in the future.

This service cancelled an hour before I got there and asked me to bring the dogs the next day which wasn’t what I booked. I booked them over night for one night. This is despite having on her page there was a $30 out of hours service fee. Had been emailing her earlier asking for confirmation got vague response yes they can visit ?? I ask do I fill out a form for all three dogs separately – no response. I fill it out – still no response. Then that morning still no contact I email her at 6am stating I need to know if they are booked in and i am running late as I’ll need to organise something else if you can’t. She says she responded circled the email that says they can visit? I email lunch time saying I am now a further hour behind. Was driving from interstate and stopping over the night needing the dogs to stay somewhere. I guess I’ll be up for the booking cancellation fees given she cancelled my booking and then asked me to drop them on a different day to what I organised. Of course I’ll stick around for one day in Dubbo in what was a stop over, so my dogs can stay in her facility. Thanks learners on lead for making a stressful journey even worse – brilliant. Perhaps next time let the person know you can’t help them earlier not when they are about to get there after driving 14 hours 👍 and be a bit clearer that they are booked in 🙄 like respond to emails. And take off your out of hours service fee as that clearly isn’t what you do.

I took part in agility and nosework classes here for 1 year. I was ‘expelled’ when I confronted the owner about her rude manner toward me.
She made fun of my vision impairment in front of the whole class and told me I was deaf.
Karen Johnston gave me no option to resolve the issue despite her comment below. She was unwilling to answer my questions about her behaviour and she misinterpreted everything I said. I offered to call her, but she refused and would only communicate through Facebook Messenger, which we all know is where effective communication goes to die.
While I used this business I saw a lot of criticism and winging about other students (not within their earshot), but never once did I see a student who was not an asset to this business. I saw a lot of unfair, irrational and reactive behaviour from Karen.
What I would prefer from a business owner is that they are inclusive to everyone and that they listen to all student’s feedback. I would have liked my questions to be answered honestly rather than have everything I said taken as a threat. Karen lost her temper after I questioned her dismissive answers as I did not want to be fobbed off as a ‘joke’.
My experience with Learners on Lead was that I was punished with expulsion because I questioned rude behaviour and derogatory comments from the owner.
I hope by providing this feedback in a public space Karen will be forced to reassess how she runs her business in the interests of proving me wrong.
I have found the service here very unsatisfactory and very unprofessional.
I would not recommend this business.

Over the years I’ve had a number of dogs go here and each and every one of them absolutely loves it. Positive rewards based training which is what you want for the best outcome for your dog. We also learnt nose work in the firm of a game that the dogs think is the best fun ever.

Taking our highly energetic 18month old border collie x dog to Learners on Lead has been invaluable. We are learning so many skills, training techniques, behaviour recognition and have had a lot of fun along the way! Highlights for us have been conditioning, recall class and social class. Karen really helped us with our pushy big boy “Boss” I was amazed at what can be done in such a short period of time when you work with the dog and not against them. We learnt so much about motivators, rewards and choice, wow, its like we have a different dog now but we don’t its still our dog just a better version of him and us. Thanks heaps Karen.

I have been taking classes at Learners On Lead with my Bull Arab X, Zorro, for a little over 12 months now. I love the variety of classes and Karen’s enthusiastic approach to learning. Zorro has come forwards in leaps and bounds in his confidence and skills. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Dubbo dogs are absolutely spoilt with this amazing service! Karen is highly professional, incredibly passionate and committed to her work.
She is constantly learning and applying her knowledge in an effort to improve our relationships with our dogs. The variety of courses is amazing, we’ve completed a number now and they all have great planning, sound evidence and fun as core elements.
We have also had some individual sessions with Karen for our little rescue dog and the work we’ve done with Karen and in class has made an amazing difference. Our once anxious and frightened puppy is now happy to approach people and just loves coming to class.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars in review- Karen is more than worth it and we’re very grateful that we can train and learn so much from her.
