Mark and the girls on the desk all have a lovely manner but he and the other vet don’t seem to know what they’re doing when it comes to birds. Too many errors, not enough avian knowledge, including mis-sexing a galah 3 years ago and incompetent treatment of an injured IRN chick in 2022. Yes, they were friendly and caring but I’ve realised correct treatment is more important than a gentle bedside manner.

On 27-October-2022 my family had to say farewell to our much loved 14yo Dalmatian Dog “Dizzy”. “Dizzy” had fought a serious gastric condition for many years – but it finally overcame her. The considered care & attention Mark Hill & staff always gave “Dizzy” was always absolutely wonderful. As a family, we were able to enjoy Dizzy for a further 2-3 years only because of Mark’s guiding care & prescribing medications as well as recommending a strict food regime. Our family cannot thank Mark & staff enough – thank you so much. And we highly recommend the SPVC to other pet owners.

I moved from North Haven to Somerton Park & I had been going to my Vet there for 4 years and both myself and my dog had built a very good relationship there so living and finding another Vet was very daunting as she has really bad allergies and was abused as a puppy so it was very important to find the right Vet for her. I did some research and Somerton Veterinary Clinic had very good reviews.
I registered Skye with them and the receptionist was so friendly & helpful.
My first visit I found Mark a bit unfriendly, however I’ve now seen him 3 times & he has been very good, trying to find the right treatment for her. He has been so thorough and extremely helpful once you get to know him he’s such a lovely man.
Whilst it’s been a very difficult decision changing Vets I’m now convinced I’ve made the right decision for her.

Took my cat Sage to this vet, we saw Mark Hill who everyone says he’s amazing… amazing with dogs but not cats. Won’t ever go there again. Got told the eye drops for my cats Conjunctivitis was $30 but was actually $35. I’ll stick to Greencross Vets, thanks. This vet is more for dogs in my opinion but not cats.

Wonderful caring staff, and vets are excellent bird specialists. Can not thank them enough for their great and loving care for my precious pet cockatiel during his life and sadly the last week of his life. They did all they could to save him right up to the end. Mark is very honest, straightforward and only wants what is best for the animal and your best friend.
I truly want to thank him and his team for getting me and my family through this with the respect that Molly deserved.

We went to Mark for many years with our previous dogs. Initially he was good but then he became very casual. For an extended period (years) visits were about five minutes with no examination of our dog and only advice was to continue with medication, Prednil. Finally found out this should not be used continuously as it can cause problems, so changed to a vet who examines our dog even if only for an injection.

I have been a loyal customer for many years.
Helpful ReviewI have 2 Mini Schnauzers, whom are 2 different ages. I try to look after them but when it comes to Vaccinations & other medicines,he is always available during the week,but I never ring him on after hours.
I have known Dr.Hill for many years & always trust his judgement on so many subjects on Canine health. He is such in touch with all sorts of animals.

Amazing vet! I take my three cats, dog and lizard to see mark and you can tell he’s doing it out of love not greed. The no check up fees let me make sure my pets are getting the upmost care without costing a fortune. My dog loves it there and gets excited when we go. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone.

The staff and the vet Dr. Mark Hill give prompt service and care every time we visit with our dog. We have been going there 9 years now and very satisfied. It was good to receive a cancellation call so we could get our dog in earlier to have her looked at. We were relieved of worrying about our dog earlier also.

The Vet, Dr Mark Hill is very knowledgeable and supportive, with great integrity. We have been very well looked after there, and we are 3 dogs, Whippet, Jack Russel, Schitzu, Moodle; 1 cat Black and White Medium hair; and 3 birds, a Rainbow Lorikeet, a Red Rumped Parrot, and a Peach Faced Love Bird.

I recently became the proud owner of an African Grey parrot which is a beautiful bird but had turned feet.
Helpful ReviewA birth defect which resulted in the rear long toe on each foot was pointing forward and laying under the front 2 toes. This had resulted in her struggle to walk and climb. She had difficulty standing on a perch and would often fall.
I took her to Mark Hill and he was fully aware of the condition and had no hesitation in recommending that the rear long toes that were causing her the issue be removed (amputated).
We went ahead with the procedure and my African Grey now has 2 front toes and 1 rear short toe on each foot. She can now climb, walk, stand on a perch or my hand just like any other bird and has an improved quality of life. She is a totally different bird thanks to Mark and his team.
