Reviewed on GoogleI can’t recommend this wonderful practice enough. My dog was referred here after our vet found an osteosarcoma on an x ray. I was contacted immediately by PVS and got an emergency spot with the oncologist and was then scheduled in for surgery. Unfortunately, my dog began to rapidly deteriorate and the surgeon identified neurological issues and so a CT scan was done which showed that the cancer had spread significantly and that surgery was not a viable option for her. My beautiful girl was then euthanised peacefully by the most lovely and caring vet with us by her side.
My whole experience with this vet was amazing, the reception team, nurses, specialists, and vet who euthanised my girl, everyone was so empathetic and caring towards both my dog and us as owners.
Lots of reviews mention the price, but of course vet care is expensive, it’s not subsidised like human healthcare and these are highly trained and experienced Doctors. I actually found the prices really reasonable for the standard of expertise and care that we received.
Thank you so much to everyone at PVS who looked after my girl Cheyenne – especially Dr Karla and Dr Rudolf, I cannot thank you enough for caring for her so beautifully on her final day, you are truly amazing people and we are so grateful ❤️

Reviewed on GoogleHad to take our very sick 13yo girl to PVS yesterday. Dr Albert and the 2 Oncology interns were absolutely fantastic. Dr Albert was so caring in his manner when dealing with Lighthouse and explaining the results of the CT scan to us. Unfortunately my beautiful girl was so ill she had to be put to sleep. We were able to be with her when she took her last breath, and were shown incredible compassion by all. Thank you for your kind words in what was an impossibly emotional time.

Reviewed on GoogleAfter a stressful morning at the park with my dog crying and shaking his head I called and took him to PVS and he was seen straight away. Within 5 minutes of arriving he was being treated and they had his compete history from my normal vet. He was treated with the best care and sedated to remove a very large grass seed from a tricky spot! He was given plenty of cuddles and is recovering well! Thankyou Dr Mandy and the team at PVS from Archie, Loui and myself!

Reviewed on GoogleWe can’t thank Perth Veterinary Specialists enough. They saved our boy from a serious bowel obstruction. They checked in with us pre and post surgery. We were able to visit our boy whilst he was still admitted and were notified of his progress every step of the way. During such a stressful time they were responsive and caring. We have our happy boy back thanks to PVS 😍

Reviewed on GoogleI cannot thank the veterinary nurses and doctors enough for helping my boy, Ollie, after ingesting a serious dose of ibuprofen. Their care and complete dedication to help him make the best recovery possible was outstanding and I always knew he was in safe hands, enjoying cuddles and affection during a stressful time. He’s now at home and back to his complete self, all thanks to your team. Thank you again, he’s family and without the help of PVS it could have been a very different outcome.

Reviewed on GoogleUnfortunately my dog got hit by a car and was rushed to Perth Vet Specialists, due to her injuries we made the decision to let her go peacefully. I can’t thank all of the staff that were on that night for their support and kindness, it truly made the situation a bit less awful. They also sent me a handwritten letter with her paw print which was so thoughtful and such a beautiful gesture. Would highly recommend this vet. Thank you again to all the staff for being there for me and my Olive girl that night, your kindness will never be forgotten X

Helpful ReviewMy lymphoma cat, in full clinical remission, died of euthanasia due to acute renal failure from chemotherapy, possibly doxorubicin. Kidney tests were fine just 2 months prior. On intravenous drips, animals can appear to improve superficially. PVS was understaffed and diagnosis was provided when he ‘had no more kidneys left’. Emergency wouldn’t see him without oncology seeing him first and oncology was fully booked, not even 5 minutes was available. The senior oncologist (SO) and clinic manager (CM) handled this tragedy with care, compassion, a card, flowers and paw print. She also reducing the bill total. We shared some feedback and PVS followed through with a mortality and morbidity review and vowed to improve their processes.
At the same time, my dog became very ill. PVS successfully stabilized the symptoms. On Day 2, Clinicians wrote (in their own notes) that he needed a Medicine Internist Specialist. No official diagnosis or understanding of cause, more IV drips. He wasn’t eating and surgery was offered. Offer was declined. PVS said he could be discharged when he started eating on his own, possibly in 2-3 weeks (cost was about $1,000 per day already). Day 6, he started eating. At discharge, I discovered painful melting, corneal ulcers in both eyes. Staff had taken off his collar-cone and mis-labelled his eye medication between Left and Right and applied incorrectly. I was left to deal with the aftermath – HOURLY eye drops, 24-HOURS a day to save his eyes. A few days later, my dog’s condition deteriorated, and he was in a fight of his life. PVS told me to bring him back. For what? More costs without a real solution? Fed up, I sent him to another hospital and was immediately attended by multiple Medicine Specialists Doctors and Nurses, all of whom were highly invested in his ongoing care and condition management.
Discharge notes said to see the PVS Medicine Specialist in 2-3 weeks. There was no cause or diagnosis found, so I asked PVS – what was the basis of that recommendation? I was informed by PVS that they had 1 Medicine Specialist and their next available appointment was in 2-3 weeks. I questioned whether this discharge note was based on the wellbeing of my dog or their appointment books? They responded with a phone call from a non-clinician New Manager (NM) to tell me this would be the last call they will have with me and would not say whether 2-3 weeks was urgent or not. By this time, and my dog had been euthanised too, so this conversation was incredibly upsetting.
Both pets were hooked to IV drips, superficially improved, were discharged and died shortly after. The previous offer to keep my dog for a further 2-3 weeks instead of immediately seeing a Medicine Specialist when other vets have capacity no longer sits well with me. Conditions have the potential to progress if not treated properly or early enough. These decisions can be the difference between living and dying.
The next phone call with the SO was attended by the NM as a witness “for safety reasons”. A possible risk/threat had obviously been communicated when no such threat was ever made. The SO was again, a good listener, incredibly compassionate, professional, and acknowledged the feedback as material that could be useful to improve this practice and the NM had exited the call before it ended when he had failed to acknowledge my concerns and the SO acknowledged my feedback as reasonable.
I really hope nobody goes through what I went through. I have regretfully lost both my boys in under a month.

My dog Charlie fell very poorly on Easter Monday. Took him in to PVS.
Very thankful to Dr Saskia for admistering pain relief and organising scans and tests etc and for her kindness.
Your Separation practice is hideously cruel and harmful.
Your emotional disregard for pets and their people is ruthless, torturous and harmful.
The trauma of being seperated from my dear, sweet dog, Charlie, will haunt me for the rest of my life.
You made him endure abandonment as well as his illness and pain.
Being denied presence with Charlie, at the worst time of his life, when he needed me most, was horrific.
To all those responsible, you must bear a share of this horror
I hope it will haunt you too, until you abolish this devastating practice.
Change your separation policy to one of inclusion.
Let pets and their people be together.
For the benefit of all beings.

Reviewed on GoogleIt took quite some time for us to get into this practice for ACL surgery. The whole process took 3 months. Whilst we were waiting for surgery, our dog did his other ACL. The first ACL surgery cost us over $8000.00 which is a totally ridiculous, over inflated, padded charge. They even had the gall to try and hit us up for $60.00 for a plastic bucket to put over our dog’s head on the way out after the op. There is no way we (or most people for that matter) can afford $16000.00 for two ACL surgeries. I have since rung around and have been quoted by two reputable Veterinary surgeons $5000.00 for the same treatment. This place is just greedy……
