As a dog owner, you have rights and responsibilities both to your pet and to the community.

Always obey any signs regarding dogs and when and where you can allow them off their lead. Dogs that are taken off their lead must remain under control of a person at all times. At times you should carry a chain, cord or leash to restrain your dog, dog owners must remain within effective voice or hand control distance of the dog at all times. A person in charge of the dog must not allow the dog to chase or threaten another person or animal.

The most common dog complaint is about dog droppings or dog waste on footpaths and in parks. Please ensure that you remove and dispose of your dog’s waste in public places.

I really like to walk and this place is one of my favorites on the list to exercise or just sit and enjoy, it has a small park with games for children and access to dogs including a water fountain for them, we bring our pet to socialize, I recommend It is very safe for the whole family.

Great field for a kick of the Rugby/footie or soccor ball with the kids. A public toilet would be mighty helpful.

A nice ground to play cricket on but the facilities off the ground? Not so much

For the ground itself, it’s a small ground with large boundaries near the Clare St end and the shortest boundary adjoining the pavilion. Some have dubbed it one of the best grounds to bat on in the south of Tasmania and I myself enjoy batting there. Can sometimes have washed out games due to poor draining but apart from that, the ground is alright to play cricket on.

The facilities provided are old and somewhat run down. Probably not a problem for most cricketers as it has the essentials of dressing rooms for both teams, showers, toilets, umpire changer rooms, spectator toilets and scorers box with a small kitchenette. There isn’t much of a spectator space and one of the few places to watch a match are the benches on the pavilion but they fill up quickly.

Sacred Heart College also use the oval during school times and the oval holds up well.

Can’t give the place 5 stars because of the lack of some facilities but it’s not a bad secondary ground for the New Town Cricket Club
