As a dog owner, you have rights and responsibilities both to your pet and to the community.
Always obey any signs regarding dogs and when and where you can allow them off their lead. Dogs that are taken off their lead must remain under control of a person at all times. At times you should carry a chain, cord or leash to restrain your dog, dog owners must remain within effective voice or hand control distance of the dog at all times. A person in charge of the dog must not allow the dog to chase or threaten another person or animal.
The most common dog complaint is about dog droppings or dog waste on footpaths and in parks. Please ensure that you remove and dispose of your dog’s waste in public places.
Always remember to be respectful in open spaces as they are used by dog lovers, sports lovers and nature lovers.

Reviewed on GoogleGreat place to take time out from Hobart city, parking available and lots of people using the area. Only downside is no public toilets and only 2 tables to sit and only 1 bin. Great vista of hobart.

Reviewed on GoogleSignboards are only at forks in the trail. My first time up here (May 2022) n had to fall back on my trusty handphone app to move about. Good place to hike, catch some fresh air and see wild animals like lizards n wallabies. Location is ideal for folks coming from neighbouring areas like West Hobart, Lenah Valley, New Town and Moonah. Was the hike challenging? Depends on your fitness level but gradients are gentle to moderate and ideal for trail runners n cyclists.
Helpful ReviewThree days later, I am starting my hike from Poets Road n going to the summit using Glover Track and Southern Summit Fire Trail. Temperature 5C brrr… but should warm up soon enough.

Reviewed on GoogleA terrific piece of bushland that connects to Mt Wellington. The loop walk gives you wonderful views of the mountain, the river, and the northern suburbs. Remember to keep your dogs on-leash unless you’re in the off-leash area to protect the native animals.

Reviewed on GoogleGood views of Hobart and surrounding suburbs through the trees. Tracks are in good condition and there are several steep sections. Signage needs to be improved. Only directions are arrows on small posts and often confusing. Need your mobile phone for directions if you are unfamiliar with the area.
