As a dog owner, you have rights and responsibilities both to your pet and to the community.

Always obey any signs regarding dogs and when and where you can allow them off their lead. Dogs that are taken off their lead must remain under control of a person at all times. At times you should carry a chain, cord or leash to restrain your dog, dog owners must remain within effective voice or hand control distance of the dog at all times. The most common dog complaint is about dog droppings or dog waste on footpaths and in parks. Please ensure that you remove and dispose of your dog’s waste in public places.
