Review Summary

Here's a summary of the most recent reviews on The Pet Community
Fancy a cosy pint of cold Guinness or a hearty meal with friends? The Flying Duck Hotel might just be your next go-to spot. Punters are raving about its friendly staff, great vibes, and well-priced food that doesn't skimp on flavour—vegetarian dishes are lauded as creative triumphs, and the steaks are reputed to be top-notch. While some guests have had less than stellar experiences with certain dishes, the consensus is that The Flying Duck's revamp has been a hit, with many eager to see this local gem reach its full potential. From family-friendly dining to accommodating dietary needs, and hosting vibrant company events, this venue's got a lot of love, especially on themed nights like 'Parma and Pups.' With a beautifully renovated space that's become a local favourite, The Flying Duck Hotel seems set to soar.

The vegetarian option are some of the most creative and delicious options I’ve come across in a pub. Not just an afterthought. On the other hand my husband said the steak he had was one of the best he’s ever eaten. Staff are super friendly and we felt completely welcome with small children. An absolute gem!

Hoping that it gets better with time. Good bar service with friendly faces. Providing the below in the hope that the food improves!

Food – Barramundi was tasty but on the smaller side for the price. Parma was ok but the chips were super salty and undercooked with an average salad. Half of the meals didn’t come out until around twenty minutes after the first half.

Really hoping that the food improves here so it matches in with the revamp which is nice. Place has a huge amount of potential so would be good to see the owners push it to be the best it can be.

The long awaited renovation is excellent, but more importantly the food is just amazing. We are visiting weekly to enjoy the 300gram Grass Fed Sirloin, along with the Roasted Broccoli. You cannot go past this – 100% perfect..

Went today for family birthday. Really bad food. Daughters cheeseburger blackened inedible, burgers cold buns, salad couple of lettuce leaves with no care. Just a bit of respect needed for diners who pay over the odds for basic pub grub. Won’t get caught again.

Great to see the Duck back open with a refreshed look and larger dinning room. Small but good menu and a good drinks list. Local favourite.

Review for a visit early 2020: No children’s menu. So we asked if they could do a plain pasta with nothing but butter and cheese ( for the children). Initially claimed they couldn’t do it (lame) then they could . 3 bowls of pasta arrived. Substantial. and then charged $27 per bowl for a basically a very simple kids pasta. $81 for spaghetti and cheese. I mean gouge me for the drinks and the adult meals, no worries, but for kids pasta. come on. Lame

Barely a pass. Ordered 2 steaks both medium. What we got was 2 well done steaks that were dry. I mean how hard can it be to cook a steak medium?? Also, drink orders were stuffed up.

Love this venue! The new renovations have made this venue the number one spot for summer. The glasshouse out the back is beautiful and the service and food is fantastic.

The Duck is back. But disappointing. Food was very average.
    • Parma’s overcooked, dry, no flavour and also cold.
    • Cheeseburger burnt bun and zero flavour.
    • $40 steak extremely dry and tough.

Service and staff were great and attentive and the new fit out is a nice update for the place. Hopefully the food improves and this becomes a cracking local.
